Breakfast bar is well stocked and clean. There are no unexpected problems or surprises. I will continue to stay at this HIE. November 20, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Needs a Good Cleaning, a Facelift and Customer Service Training Excluding the reception desk, the staff was inattentive of their guests. This includes the housekeeping staff as well as the staff working the breakfast areas. And although I understand it is the policy of the hotel and not the person that checked me in, I find it very irritating and unprincipled to exclude their Elite guest members of their check-in perks (water, bag of goodies, etc…) because I was using a “free night” voucher. I EARNED that free night, and I EARNED my status with IHG!! Just because I finally have a chance to use it, I should still be treated as a “paying” guest. Now, I did ask if he would please give me a bottle of water and he complied, but really, I need to beg for a bottle of water…?!?! Secondly, I understand that not all hotels within the IHG chain can be “brand new”, but there is a big difference between old and filthy! The bathroom was rundown and dirty,the room had that superficially cleaned feel and there were LARGE amounts of mold growing on the ice machines. If the outside looks like this (see attached pics), you can just imagine what’s growing on the inside!!When I went to front desk in the morning to report my findings, no one was staffing the desk so I just left! The hallways and stairwells were dimly lit and uninviting; so much so that my wife said she actually felt uncomfortable going out of the room by herself! We joked that it looked like they had not renovated since the 70s’. That’s totally unacceptable for a hotel associated with IHG in my opinion! October 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not quite what I expected I was looking to book a suite for my fiance and I, as we were traveling to meet my parents for the first time and I thought it would be nice to get a little romantic retreat just before. The King bedroom (non-smoking) kind of smelled musty (like a smokers room) and the hotel stairwells really smelled bad. We got in around 830 PM and were glad to have some time to enjoy the indoor pool. We really only tried out the jacuzzi since the "heated" pool wasn't so heated. The breakfast was pretty decent and I wish they had waffles haha. For some reason I tend to look forward to those on hotel stays. I wouldn't chance the pancake machine they have since it sees undercooked and doesn't taste that great (stick with the banana... trust me). Overall it was a good experience, but I don't think it was work the amount we paid for to be honest. October 13, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Always enjoy the Anniston/Oxford Holiday Inn Express I stay there for 3 days every 3 months on business and the staff all know me by name, both when I am there and even when I call to make my reservation. The rooms are always clean and enjoyable. Tuesday evening is Happy Hour with free appetizers and that is always a welcomed treat after my first day of work in the Anniston area. The breakfasts are always filling with a variety of choices. I look forward to staying at the Holiday Inn Express when I am in the Anniston area. October 6, 2015
