Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Family Hotel we have ever experienced. The entire staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel and rooms are veru cleam and comfortable. The breakfast was fresh good and large variety and included hot food. They have this an Amazing pancake machine that makes nice round size pancakes in seconds. I am a very picky and now we will only stay at The Holiday Inn. Thank you to the Hotel Staff. November 23, 2013

Besides the wedding and generally busy W/E, staff was able to give us a quiet and satisfactory room. Unfortunately when I tried to take my bath, I could not get hot water, and once wet, I finished washing my hair with barely warm water, resulting in getting a bad cold. The staff responded quick and very politely to fix the problem. When the linen on one of the beds was discovered stained, the housekeeper was immediately there to rectify the problem, and when a non service dog went to my husband's legs in AM at the breakfast room , my husband is scared of dogs, the staff was very efficiently trained in service recovery, and satisfactorily resolved the situation. Ordinarily if a place has 2 strikes they are out for me. There are usually plenty competitors for me to give my business to, and I travel a lot. Because the staff was so efficient and polite, I would definitely give this hotel my business. November 16, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel needs to work better with World Gym I have the option to choose hotels closer to my office while there on business. But I choose this one since they are connected with World Gym. HOWEVER, I've been there twice in the past 3 weeks and there were 2 days in whichthe gym did NOT open at 5am as advertised. One day, the person did not even get there until after 7am. No one on the hotel staff could assist, I understand. I was told that 'they (people at WG) do whatever they want". I travel to the area quite frequently, and if something isn't approved, i will no longer stay at this facility. In addition, I requested a room with referidgerator and microwave. These rooms were sold out when I checked in. and none of the local TV channels (ABC, CBS, etc) were working: 'no signal'. This was a very disappointing stay. October 23, 2013

This hotel, paired with a catering company, made the entire event a huge success. Everything went smoothly, and it gave us peace of mind to know that the majority of our guests were staying at the hotel, so that no only could they enjoy the reception longer, but there was no worry of them driving home after a night of partying. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What a nice suprise I got to the hotel after 7:00 pm and there was still food from the managers reception and it was a great treat to have a beer and something to eat after driving to the hotel. The General Manager was serving the guests and Jim couldn't be nicer! the new TV in the room had three HBO's - more than I have at home! The next day i met my coworker for breakfast and it was great. It was interesting to see an Asian group and the hotel had rice and special breakfast items for them as well. October 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and Comfortable A co-worker and I stayed at this location for two nights during a business trip. Overall, I had an uneventful stay. I say this as a positive. Room was clean and was quite comfortable. Would've been nice to have a refrigerator, but it wasn't really a problem. And I did know about it before hand with their online description of the room. Positives - Nice desk with a comfortable chair - Wireless internet had decent speed - Bathroom was clean when I arrived - My limited contact with the staff was always pleasant - Breakfast had a lot of options, which was nice, What I ate was tasty, except for the scrambled eggs. But ultimately one of the best breakfasts I've seen at a hotel. Negatives - None I enjoyed the stay and would return if my company business sends me back to the area. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Our 3 day stay was comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was good and the service was excellent. Use of the gym was awesome. There were many shops and resturants nearby. There were problems with the toilet, so they gave us a plunger. The hair dryer didn't work, so I was glad I brought my own. This hotel could use some updating, but overall it was okay. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing staff for Melodic Rock Fest 2 guest. We were at the hotel for 3 nights for the Melodic Rock Fest 3 concert. Your hotel and staff was amazing for us. The breakfast was so good with so many choices. I'm sure we were not an easy crowd, but I was very impressed. I hope they do this again with the same venue and hotel. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best in the area We had two surprises in arriving at the hotel. The first was a room that smelled like cigarettes. The management changed our room but never said they were sorry. It was as if we were the problem. The second surprise had to do with the hotel's "deposit" system. We had booked two rooms for three nights. as it turned out, we only needed one of the rooms for two nights. Management said that there was a no refund policy on our "deposits." There was nothing on our confirmation that indicated we could not get a refund for that one night. The room was of average size and comfortable, although the mattress was hard. During our first morning there, we noticed a lot of water on the carpet in front of the AC unit. September 5, 2013

Extremely convenient location, easy access to major highways in all directions and excellent restaurants near by. The staff is exceptionally friendly and it is nice to be recognized when you return after 3-4 months since the last stay. Although the interior / room décor is in need of a little updating, I rarely stay elsewhere when in the Chicago area for business. August 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quite nice! The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. There is even a letter signed by a manager to welcome you and to explain some of the amenities. IHG rewards club members get to pick their own treat from a nice variety and get a bottle of water, too. There is a large pool attached next door. We stayed in a King suite (room 633), which was nice and spacious even if it had an oddly shaped bathroom. If management ever gets the chance, I'd recommend installing towel racks near the (very nice and big) shower. Another thing to note is that breakfast starts at 6:00am, which is good if you want to get going in the morning and beat the rush hour traffic. (I did.) August 13, 2013

We love the weights and workout room's many treadmills and elliptics. For a great price we got a 'Total Workout". Can't wait til next year. August 9, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional service! This Holiday Inn Express in Palatine was a real delight to stay at! From check in to check out the staff were all very nice and treated me very well! We had a warm welcome upon our very late arrival and the next day when I went down to breakfast and asked for a tray to bring some items back to my room no trays were available but Hilda was happy to offer to carry some items back up for me. The room was very clean and everything functioned correctly and was very comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate returning here the next time I travel to the Chicago area! Palatine is nice since it is just outside of Chicago and is quieter and at a more relaxed pace. August 5, 2013

This Holiday Inn Express in Palatine was a real delight to stay at! From check in to check out the staff were all very nice and treated me very well! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Property needs some help We found the rooms to be large and the rate was great for Chicago area. We found that the breakfast staff was overwhelmed and at times there was limited food and choices. The fitness center and pool was not easy to find a long way through the hotel and we did not feel welcome or safe. The facilities looked very dated and not very clean. We lost two items of clothes and after several calls to the hotel after departure we gave up on finding them or even receiving a return call. This hotel was rated higher than typical for the chain so we were very disappointed with our stay. We had two rooms and at departure we wished that we would have stayed somewhere else. I was not recognized as a member and no gift was offered. July 23, 2013
