Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Price was right This Hotel is under construction and that was reflected adequately in the room rate. The business center was being refurbished and there was no computer available for use. Basically, I received what I expected with a hotel during a remodel with one disturbing exception. I was checked by a poorly dressed desk clerk who did not acknowledge my Priority Club Status and seemed in a hurry to get back to something other than me. I saw two more desk clerks during my stay and although they were friendly, they were dressed in jeans with shirts hanging out. I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism displayed by the entire hotel staff. September 4, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best hotel experience ever.... From the moment we got there Lisa the front desk clerk treated us like we were family. We were having car trouble and had 2 front flat tires. To say that we were stressed, is puting it mildly. Lisa went above and beyond what any hotel had done for us. She gave us a great rate on a room and made me feel like priority club membership was something special. August 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Should Close for Construction! Room was unsatisfactory. Drapes falling off the wall. No baseboards in bathroom and holes in the wall. Room was damp and smelt of mildew. No ventilation in bathroom (fans). I'm surprised Holiday Inn put their name on this hotel! August 16, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Renovation The hotel is currently being renovated and its looking very nice. Our room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was in transition of being remodeled. I would recommend it and stay again, just wish I had known it was in renovation mode and a discount for the state it was in would have been nice. August 9, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Under Construction We had a pleasant enough stay overnight. I booked online, knowing that the Holiday Inn Express hotels are a safe bet. We have been Priority Club Members for years. When we arrived, it was evident by the dumpsters outside that some renovations were underway. After checking in, we realized that the work was being done throughout the halls. Our room looked as if it also could use a makeover. I know this is not the high season, and repairs must be made, but would have appreciated a "heads up" on the internet site, or at least a comment at the front desk to say "We apologize for our appearance at this time". Other than that, the hotel lived up to the Holiday Inn Express reputation we enjoyed in the past. I will not book online again for this reason, and will ask on the phone if construction is going on. The hostess in the breakfast area was very polite and was very helpful in every way possible. The room was good and dark which made the night sleep a lot better. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Property under remold I am a guest who uses a wheelchair. Property was under an upgrade remodel and this was not mentioned on the property's website. The room assigned to me was on the second floor of a three story building. The room was of extremely poor design. for one thing if i had to use the bathroom, I literally had to roll my chair into the hotel hallway because rather than the bathroom door opening to the room, the bathroom door opened to the hallway making it difficult for a wheelchair person to use the bathroom. The reason given to me why I could not get a room on the first floor was they were in the midst of remolding the first floor. The desk clerk did suggest the Hampton Inn as alternative. I declined the suggestion because I made the reservation through Holidex and since it was after 6p when I checked in I did not want to be charged that one night. July 6, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Work in progress Literally they are ripping up the floor area in reception and in the vicinity on the ground floor. There was no mention of this when booking or any mention of disruption when checking in. The workmen use the entrance by the pool which, if you were using the pool, was not very private or pleasant. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are in need of an update, but serve their purpose. Pleasant breakfast with plenty of choice. When checking out, again no mention or apology regarding the ongoing work, the sounds of which we could hear on the third floor!! Also a young child was seen wielding a hammer and chisel lifting the floor tiles in reception area!! No safety measures were in place, just a sign apologising for the dust!! Don't visit in the next couple of weeks if you want peace and quiet. June 20, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Maybe ok when it's finished We weren't pre-warned but they are currently updating the hotel but during our visit there was a lot of dust and half finished areas. We are assuming that the bathroom on our suite was unfinished as the door had splashes of something on is and the skirtings were unfinished. There were never many people at breakfast so we assume the hotel very full The breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express offering but each day there was less available. On the last day the were no Biscuits, No Gravy, No Fruit, No Pancakes, two yoghurts (both Strawberry) 3 Cartons of milk. I did get the impression that they were running down prior to a full closure to do the fefurb, but could be wrong and it may just have been bad organisation Not the hotels fault but our room had a child next door that was constantly grizzling and crying from the time we got in until way past 11 each night before starting again around 7:30. Then they put a yapping dog on the other side. Would I stay again?, probably not. May 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceeded All Expectations!! After reading past reviews on this site I have to admit I was apprehensive. But we love Holiday Inn Express Hotels and this was the only one in Palm Coast, so I said a prayer, crossed my fingers and booked our room. Yes, when we walked in there was construction going on in the lobby, but they were cleaning up and there was no more work during our stay. But we figured we were renting the room, not the lobby! Lisa at the desk was great! I asked about refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms and she said the regular rooms did not have those amenities yet so she gave us a suite which included both. I asked about late check out and they were very liberal. She handed us snacks that made my kids very happy. All I can say about our room is WOW!! Clean, beautiful and huge. We like Holiday Inn Express for their breakfast choices and we were not disappointed. There was something for everyone in the family. Thank you Lisa and everyone there who made our stay so special. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good service while under construction The hotel lobby although under construction has great promise with the hand-painted curved ceiling. I was surprised that only suites, and not standard rooms, had refrigerators as indicated in the AAA book. This caused us to upgrade our room, and thankfully there was one left. Since tile was being laid in the laundry area, we were unable to washing machine. Breakfast was very good with a variety of items, pastry, breads, cereals, yogurt, and hard eggs. I am hopeful that when construction is finished, this will be a more pleasurable place to rest. Overall, it was still a very good value for the money. April 3, 2013

The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is large and varied, and all of the staff are very helpful. We travel for business and appreciate the amenities at this locale. We would recommend it to all travelers who are looking for a very nice, very affordable place to stay. March 18, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value Property Under Room Renovation We arrived at 2AM and the young man at the front desk was very friendly and accomodating. The room was clean and the TV was older style not a flat screen but all we wanted to do was sleep and he gave us a late checkout without a fuss. Bathroom was clean and although older was in good condition. Great value for the money. Would stay again. January 29, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Did NOT feel like a Holiday Inn We've stayed at many different Holiday Inn's and Expresses, and this property did NOT live up to expectations. The internet was slow at best, with usually only one bar on the third floor. The bathroom looked like it was being redone, with paint above the sink and plaster below. The breakfast ran out of different things different days, and when asked, one time I was told you came too late, yet there was still 15 minutes left of the breakfast time. We rented and reserved a suite, only to find it was just a larger room with a pull out bed. Not what we were used to when getting a suite. When I mentioned this to the staff when we were leaving, I was told they were in renovations, and would be done by summer. Not impressed with that answer just like not impressed with this property. We'll go elsewhere next time. January 7, 2013

If you depend on internet or a hotel's business center, this isn't the place to stay! Internet crawls, printer looks about 10 years old and barely functions. (course if you know how to hold the paper "just right" you can get it to feed and possibly print something!) Not my best experience for business travel! December 12, 2012
