Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent customer service -
My wife and me stay in Paris for 4 days, our last stop of our holiday in Europe. The hotel provide a very nice view and relaxing environment along the Canal. Room facility is good and clean.;
Breakfast is the only area need to be improved.
Lastly, I would like to express my appreciation to the front desk staff ,Ms Alda, for her professionalism in customer service. She's very helpful and friendly in solving all my problems such as WI-FI; provide good recommendation for my city tour. With the excellent customer service, this is the hotel I will like to recommend.

Really great hotel, great location, clean, comfortable, helpful reception staff, good parking, reasonable prices for Paris. Would highly recommend. We are a family of three & room was ideal with plenty of room & comfy beds. Shower was fantastic. Had great view. Only thing that let it down was breakfast - ran out of tables, cutlery & food options & breakfast staff not that helpful although were v busy to be fair. Needs bigger restaurant to cope with numbers at breakfast.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fields2013 Loved this Hotel
We stayed at the Canal De La Villette Holiday Inn our last night in Paris so we could easily get to the airport the next morning by taxi. Everything about the hotel was excellent- the rooms, the showers, the breakfast, the location. My teenage sons said it was their favorite hotel in Europe on this trip.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by doctorbob1701 Front desk staff was awesome
We are from Florida; we cam there for a medical conference that was being held in central Paris near the Opera. We, however, wanted to stay someplace less expensive and in a non tourist area. We found a great value in Holiday Inn Express. the host hotel was about 350 Euros per night; HIE was MUCH less. We wanted to eat at places where the local people ate; the front desk staff was great about recommending terrific restaurants. We had trouble getting on the internet/WIFI; one of your staff went beyond the call of duty to get us connected. I will stay there again whenever I'm back in Paris. Thank you all for a great stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great Hotel in Paris
I have stayed at the HI Express Canal De La Villette four times and have found the hotel to be a great value. The staff is GREAT! Very helpful and knowledgeable. Although not a truly central location, there are several convenient metro stations on two different lines which will get you into the center of Paris within 25 minutes. The setting of the hotel on the canal is fantastic and the neighborhood offers everything you could need due to it being a residential area, not a tourist area. I will continue to stay here in the future, and look forward to my next visit.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by edov Ok, but nothing special
Things are new, and the bathroom is nice. Hotel was very busy especially at breakfast. It was hot and the aircon could not cool the room (probably because we were underneath the roof). Location is ok, nicely next to the canal, but not right in the centre.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rustydog Horrible Mattresses and Air Conditioning
I would not recommend staying at this hotel unless you have low standards and low expectations!
The air conditioning did not work the first 2 days of our stay. When I informed the front desk that the AC wasn't working, they said the technician had gone home for the day. When I asked them to call him back to fix it, they acted like I had asked the impossible, which it turns out I apparently had. They said they called him, but he couldn't come back. No sleep that night as the room was a sauna. The next morning at 9 am, the technician came in and "repaired" the AC. When we returned back to the hotel around 5:30 pm, that afternoon the AC was not working. I called the front desk to inform them that the AC was not working, they told me that the technician had fixed it that morning. I explained that his repair did not last, because the AC was not working. She called the technician #he had gone home#, who informed her that he had fixed the AC that morning and it was working right. I was informed that I was the "only one" complaining. I went to the front desk and took one of the front desk attendants to our room. She verified that, in fact, the temperature in our room was "intolerable - you can't stay in this" #her words!#. She then called the technician back out. The AC had quit working on the 2nd, 5th, and 6th floors again! So, after 2 days without AC, they finally got it working. Even at that, it barely kept the room bearable. It never really got cool.
The mattresses are obviously old and of poor quality. They sag and you can feel the springs. VERY uncomfortable.
On the positive side, the location was nice and metro was convenient. Other than the issue regarding the AC, the front desk staff were generally helpful.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Canalside Fantastic staff in great hotel
Knowing this hotel from a previous stay, we chose to return with our 12-year-old grand-daughter in order to show her Paris for the first time. We knew she would love the hotel's position by the canal marina, especially as it becomes a 'Paris Plage' during the summer months, so that staying at the Hotel Canal de la Villette is the nearest you can get to a beach hotel in the middle of a city, combining the delights of both!
In order to show her the city we had booked, in advance, a city tour comprising the Eiffel Tower, a Seine cruise and a city sites tour for our final evening, but 24 hours prior to its start we discovered the tour company had cancelled our booking in error, and the tour was now sold out. If it had not been for the ingenuity and efficiency of Sandra and Aida at the Reception desk our grand-daughter's holiday would have been ruined. They made numerous phone calls and ensured that a replacement tour was booked for us and also even went to the trouble of contacting the operators of the cancelled tour to obtain assurances that our earlier payment would be refunded. We cannot thank them enough for their kindness and support.
We will definitely be returning!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Pasihapaori Trustworthiness of hotel staff is questionable
This hotel was recommended to our organisation, however, I had a negative experience. I would advise anyone to be mindful of leaving or forgetting their belongings in the hotel room. I left money in my room and was not able to recover it. What I found most astonishing is the reaction from hotel management. The kept on emphasising how it was obvious that their housekeeping staff is tustworthy, and in a way were implying that I could be lying or mistaken about the whole situation.
To make matters worse I left Paris and kept on following up on the matter and was receiving conflicting information from the Hotel Front Desk regarding the investigation into the whole matter.
This left a very undesirable impression of the hotel in my mind. Furthermore as as foreigner visiting Paris for the first time it led me to question the calibre of people I was dealing with. It is definitely a place I will never stay at again whilst in Paris

We stayed for 4 nights in this hotel and we had a nice experience . They upgraded us to nice canal view rooms and though breakfast could get boring , rest of the stay was awesome . They gave us free wifi for being a platinum member and speed was awesome.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NikkyName Comfortable hotel close to Metro and neighboorhood brasseries
I was very satisfied with this hotel. It is quite new and have a good HVAC --- needed in Summer-- rooms are small but manageable, even with my kid in a pullout sofa bed (solid matress). My side of the matress had an uncomfortable point and I reported to the lobby. They placed a matress topper and the problem was resolved.
It is located within walking distance from the Metro in a safe neighboorhood. The restaurants close by were good and super-friendly service --yummy food--
The only restaurant that provided poor service was the one located at the bottom of the hotel (we decided to walk half a block to the next place...and we loved it). It was very busy that shows that they can have an attitude..
Breakfast buffet was well stocked if you could make it before 10 a.m. But we were too tired in the mornings to wake up...however, the hotel was gracious enough to let us in for whatever was left (Breaksfast goes until 10 a.m.).
The lobby was a extremely busy area with tours coming and leaving at rush time but it was a quite building...windiws were good isolated.
Staff was bilingual and very nice!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hm1848 Safe area at the Canal de la Vilette
situated at the Canal de la Vilette this area gives a good chance to stay in Paris in an area without a lot of tourists. Nice bistros, restaurants at the canal. We feel safe.
Metro station nearby and only a few minutes ride to Lafayette, Opera and Hotel de la Ville.
Parking has space also for greater cars !

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mark2013USA Great place to stay!
We would like to commend the staff for running a very professional and affordable hotel. After literally weeks of internet searches we decided on staying at the Canal De La Villette and are very glad we did. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They made it easy for our daughter (a student in Paris) to secure her luggage even before our check-in! It was no problem adding her to the room stay for a small fee. The room although small for 3 people was clean and functional. The bathroom was spotless which was much appreciated. Our only misconception was that there would be a balcony to look over the canal (that would have been great), unfortunately that was not the case. The included breakfast was a great value and one of the big reasons for choosing this location. It's best to go to breakfast early as it gets quite busy. We loved the coffee selections as well as the bread/meat and cheeses. Juice and cereals were also provided. We sat in the bar one night and listened to a couple performers who were quite good. There are multiple restaurants very close by and all the ones we tried had tasty food and were reasonably priced (be sure to get there early or you might not get a table). On Friday night we drank wine by the canal while the locals played Petonk. There were tons of people out living their lives, so it was cool to really see how the people of Paris entertain themselves.
The metro station, grocery market and laundry-mat is less than a 5 minute walk. Safety wise a police station is right there as well. For the budget yet comfort minded customer, this was an excellent value! Thanks again!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 7continents Great View and Nice Breakfast with Reasonable Price
Great view facing canal and local park! The hotel amenities are modern and beds are cozy and comfortable. Especially my 12 year old son liked the sofa bed, where he could look down the canal directly. The complementary breakfast buffet was great as well.
The location is about a block away from subway station but it's a great value comparing downtown hotels in Paris. We enjoyed the 3 night stays and would like to recommend to my friends.

Comparing the stay in US, US H Inn Exp provides hand lotion and water bottle for priority club members in USA while in Europe they do not provide in the room but not even at the front desk.
A new experience for me for travel in Europe but will be prepared and take it with me on the next trip.
Overall the stay was good.

nice, QUIET and CLEAN room, big and comfy bed, beautiful view from the window (room104) , friendly HK and reception staff, smooth check in and check out, a bit crowded restaurant during busy breakfast time - but no surprise as it was a weekend....
perfect hotel for a short stay, even with a baby

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tanakeeta An excellent choice
As a family of four we stayed at the Holiday Inn Canal Villette for 3 nights. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful. Our young children are visually impaired and this hotel was very accessible and a great choice. Good views of the canal with very easy access to the metro system. I would definitely stay here again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OhioBuckeyes Clean, safe and pleasant
We just stayed in this hotel and found the property, the staff and the area to be very pleasant. The staff especially was great.
It is in a working-class neighborhood in Paris, which means that the restaurants in the area are a little more affordable. Try 25 Est and the place across the street from the hotel with the red awning. We enjoyed very good meals at both places.
The room was clean and pleasant, with nice views over the canal and a nice balcony off the rooms.
The breakfast was delicious...some days it was very, very busy, and that could be off-putting sometimes.
I must say that I was concerned about the location of this hotel. But there was no reason for concern...it was lovely and we would certainly be happy to stay there again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by skubby52 Very helpful staff, poor show at breakfast
The staff as always were professional, pleasant and friendly. They were most helpful with the use of an electrical adaptor, and putting us in our requested area of the hotel.
Breakfast on Monday was not up to the usual standard of service. By 09:20 lots of basic foodstuff such as bread had run out to be replaced with cake! followed some time later by some drab looking sliced bread. The cooked food was also in short supply and arrived at 9:50. One particular guest got rather annoyed with the state of affairs and was then waited on to placate him.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mike73888 Nice stay in Paris
The room was a little on the small side, but what'd you expect in a city like Paris. So even though the room could have been larger, it was still a nice and clean room with a balcony. Service was great. People could easily answer all my questions, even in English.
My family and I did like the breakfest very much. The basic internet was too slow, but ok for getting your e-mail or news. Maybe spend some extra bucks on internet if you go there.

It was our second stay at this hotel and it was almost perfect! Large and clean rooms, good breakfast, Metro-station nearby, safe garage, helpfully and friendy staff. We were only a bit annoyed that one of two lifts was during both stays out of order and so we had to wait a lot.
