Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average hotel, well outside of town, hard to find Things didn't start well when we realised the address of the hotel on the website was wrong so we had to call for the correct location having driven around for 30 minutes trying to find it.. Despite being called Parma the hotel is in fact a long way out of town down a dingy street on the edge of an industrial estate. We were greeted in a friendly, efficient manner and the room was pleasant however there was a lot of noise from other guests making sleep difficult, the WiFi was so slow as to be unusable and the aircon was not working. The TV featured only Italian channels - disappointing. Unusually for a Holiday Inn Express they do offer an evening restaurant service however the good news stops there as the choice and quality is very poor, this in the gastronomic heart of Italy ! Not good enough. All in all this hotel could be so much better, there is extensive free parking, the design is quite nice but it is let down by the poor location, terrible restaurant and noisy rooms. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great american style hotel in Parma Clean, large room with all the amenities known from the US. Good breakfast that will keep you going. Hotel needs to update the way the code is given to travelers since the current system does not work for Ipads and Iphones. Front desk knows about it and tells traveler that they just have to ask if it does not work. Would be much nicer to make sure that it works from the beginning... Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very good with a few defects I have been in this hotel several times this year and my review will cover all stays. The overall experience has been in general very good with clean rooms and a quality of breakfast which is by far over the standard of Express by Holiday Inn hotels. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. However the quality of the restaurant is definitely not up to Parma standards. I had twice pasta submerged in ragu sauce (american style) and I am reasonably sure that many other hot dishes were prepared in advance and warmed iup n the microwave oven. I might understand that in hard times hotels are forced to accept as guests even groups of high school students on "educational" trips but it is important to maintain a good quality of stay for the other guests. After spending a night awake listening to people running over the stairs and jumping in the room over mine I chose another hotel from the rest of the summer period. I definitely recommend the hotel except school spring travel times. December 23, 2013
