Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Smoker smell Unfortunately, a smoker ignored the hotel's non-smoking policy. Also unfortunate, the hotel was completely booked; thus, changing rooms wasn't an option. A perfumed spray was provided; but, as we all know, that isnt a fix---just a mask. No manager was available at checkin or first thing in the morning. I was told that by the front desk that the manager would call me that day. No one called. I contacted HIE customer service and was treated with prompt service and given a discount. February 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, Comfortable Hotel The room was very accommodating and the beds are great! I travel a lot for work and really feel out the hotels. With that being said: The breakfast was great-many options and food was always fresh and hot. I am not a coffee drinker but they continually checked the coffee levels and refilled them with fresh coffee. The lighting in the hotel bathrooms were pretty dim, which makes it hard to do makeup after waking up. You could tell they had replaced the bulbs with energy efficient bulbs which is great for the bill but the bulb itself was not very bright. The room was very clean, but I have come to realize at the last few HIE hotels that in the bathrooms if the previous customer left the rags rolled up that the cleaning crew assumed it was clean and left it. I have gone to wash my face before and there was already makeup on the rag. This happened at this hotel and at the last HIE I stayed in. I simply grabbed another one but it makes me question if the cleaning crew is really replacing the rags and washing them at EVERY checkout process. My bed linens have ALWAYS been clean, I know this b/c I spray the beds completely down with febreeze upon arrival to help me feel more at "home" while I am away from home. There was a gentleman here at check-in that was very cheerful and helpful EVERY time I walked by the desk. He greeted me every time I walked by and asked how my night/day was going and if I needed anything. He was a SUPER STAR employee for sure. There was also another lady that was working during my stay that was on her cell phone EVERY time I walked in or out the lobby. She didn't greet me one time and I was there from Tues morning to Fri morning. Customer service is hit or miss at most hotels but I gave this hotel the 5 star rating b/c the gentlemans' actions and sincere greetings everyday that I stayed. January 29, 2015
