Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great For Wedding We stayed here for my son's wedding. Everyone was super friendly and attentive to us and whatever we might need. The staff felt like family by the time we left. The hotel was being remodeled, but it didn't interfere with the quality of our stay. April 21, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Stay The hotel had all the expected Holiday Inn Express amenities. The shower had strong pressure and adequate temperature. TV had sufficient amount of channels. There are only a few comments concerning renovation and staffing in the morning: 1) Keep the lobby ceiling painting at night; paint could drip on guests. 2) There was banging noises from renovation in the afternoon. 3) Newspaper was not ready at 6:00 AM; still yesterday's newspaper. 4) There was no front desk attendant between 5:50 AM and 6:00 AM - too busy making breakfast. 5) Because the door bottom had brush seal, it was not possible to slide receipt into the rooms. Thus, it could create a check-out bottle-neck in the morning. April 19, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Renovations and rooms not clean at arrival I was SO looking forward to my stay at this location as I was in town for the Mrs. Alabama pageant to see my best friends daughter compete (she got 1st alternate btw) and the HIE was only a couple of miles from the venue so it was perfect....or so I thought. Upon arrival at 3 pm check in, they were doing renovations that we hadn't been told about so the parking lot was a terror. Also, trying to get up and down the elevator while dodging workers with huge carts and boxes and crates was a nightmare. To add to the frustration, we were on a limited timeframe and the 1st, 2nd and 3RD rooms they sent me to were all still unclean from the previous guests. I kept my cool and kept dodging workers trying to run back and forth to the front desk for a new room each time I entered a dirty one. FINALLY, I just told them to tell me the room number my friend was staying in and I would go get ready for the event in HER room and get MY room later that evening when we returned. I got to my friend's room and was brushing my teeth when they brought me a key to a clean room. Total chaos trying to get my stuff moved but managed to get to my destination on time. I was so disappointed as I've always enjoyed HIE. April 1, 2015
