When the Holiday Express was the "Dunes" prior to 2004 it was the perfect get-away to relax - it is off the beaten path. It had a dining and a bar. As a single mom, I took my two daughters and mom every year for about 10 years. Just came back this year with my youngest daughter and was surprised there was no dining or bar faciities. So now instead of relaxing by the pool or beach - we had to leave to get lunch - the breakfast bar was fine but it was not available in the afternoon. Now to leave the beach to go get lunch took the relaxing out of an all day fun in the sun on the beach - plus no bar to grab a cold drink. Had to purchase a cooler to bring bottled water to the beach.
The rooms had been refurbished with new furniture, comfortable mattress and pillows, hurricane windows and doors on balcony was nice. Hallway, carpet and bathrooms need updating but were very clean.
Staff were very polite and pleasant.

All rooms are beach view. They are clean. And the best was staff are great from front office to room cleaning to food division. It was peaceful in this part of the beach.

What an exceptional hotel. Great location, great rooms great staff. It was like we had our own personal concierge at all hours of the day. Staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the local happenings and good eats of Pensacola. One of the most beautiful beaches I've ever visited. We hope to make this an annual trip.

Our room overlooking the ocean was very nice. The bathroom was a bit small but clean, as was the room. The beds were comfy, the breakfast was very good and the staff was the best ever. Location was good for getting to events and restaurants. Will return to this place again.

This was our second year staying here to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. We stayed there last year and loved the location so we decided to go again. Rooms were clean, the staff was very attentive. What ever we needed they address it and treated us like we were the only guests in the hotel. Breakfast was good and had a variety of choices. The cooks were especially friendly and we enjoyed talking to them. Just can't beat the beautiful gulf view. A little pricey for the room, but well worth it! This is our hotel of choice.

From check in to check out, this place was fantastic. They allowed a late check out without any problems and even offered the reward program for future stays. They gave us a map of the island with restaurants and other attractions. Breakfast was a great selection and good food. The staff could not have been nicer. They were there to make sure the guests were comfortable and able to relax. The rooms were big and very clean. I hope to go back and stay soon!

Simply put - we had a wonderful stay at your Inn. The staff was always friendly and ready to help - just nice to be greeted with a smile and a Hi. I hope we can visit you again and I will definitely recommend your property to anyone going to Pensacola Beach. We have family in the area and getting to spend quiet/quality time with our grandchildren was the best - wonderful memories were made. Thank you

This year was our fourth year coming to this hotel and its still as great as it was then as it is now, staff are excellent no matter there job title they speak and are very helpful. We will continue to come as long as we are able. It's the once a year trip we always look forward to. We appreciate the kind service, great rooms, terrific breakfast and daily snacks they provide as we'll. the nice touch is the message board out front, always look forward to them acknowledging the guest.

This stay in Holiday Inn Express in Pensacola Beach, FL was among the best experiences we have had. The Hotel and staffing when above and beyond to make our stay memorable. I feel like I made some friends of the staff and plan to return as soon as feasible.

We had a very nice time at the Holiday Inn Express. Customer service was excellent. I had questions prior to coming and sent an email to the hotel. Tyler sent an email back to me very quickly with all the information I needed. The hot breakfast was served fresh daily and had many options. The ladies working the breakfast time were very friendly and kept all the foods replenished. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the cleaning staff were always friendly. The pool was nice and warm and I really enjoyed it. I also liked the balcony - it was awesome to sit out there and listen to the sound of the waves and see the beautiful view. I really enjoyed our entire stay there. My only negative part of this review was that I had to leave so soon.

I am from the UK and travel quite a lot in the USA on business and stay at various Holiday Inns.
This hotel ranks as one of the best I have stayed at.
The front desk staff are fantastic and the room very comfortable, clean with lovely views.
Location is perfect.
Don't hesitate in staying at this hotel, you will also be impressed.

Everything was just as the good reviews said. Very clean, extremely wonderful staff, great breakfast choices, easy parking, easy access to the beach, and the one thing I would add is that the rooms were very spacious for two double beds. We will certainly stay here again.

I had a difficult time deciding between Orange Beach or Gulf Shores and ultimately decided on Pensacola Beach based on the Trip Advisor reviews for this property. While the hotel is pricey for a Holiday Inn Express, it is so worth it! Each room has a Gulf of Mexico view. We slept with the drapes and the balcony door open. The sound of the waves lulled us to sleep, and the beautiful view was a great start to the day. Our family decided if the hotel provided lunch and dinner we'd feel like we were on a cruise ship with a balcony!
We loved the fact there are rooms Gulf side only, which means there is no room across the way, instead there are small windows looking out to the bay which provides light in the hallway.
The staff is friendly and they go out of their way to make sure their guests are enjoying themselves. They do a great job of taking care of the property. Everything is immaculate.
Breakfast was typical for a Holiday Inn Express. I love the extended breakfast hours, 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., which helps stagger the crowds. I also appreciated they did not start removing food by 9:30 a.m., rather keeping food out as the last people staggered in. This hotel is all about customer service!
The difference between Margaritaville, and the Holiday Inn Express, Margaritaville is a Resort, with a restaurant and a bar, but there is no free breakfast and the view rooms cost extra. Locationwise, Margaritaville is slightly closer to the restaurants.
The only down fall about Pensacola Beach is there is no local/inexpensive dining on Pensacola Beach. You have to drive to dinner if you don't want to break the bank, or eat burgers all week.

We stayed six nights 3/29 through 4/3 on all occasions of contact with any member of the hotel staff our request was immediately taken care of with professional care. From taking care of a lost room key to providing milk late at night. Towels were always available for the pool, and the pool was always clean. Our room was clean when we arrived and cleaned every day,we really want to thank the maid service staff for a GREAT job done.The people at this hotel are GREAT. If you are going to be in the Pensacola area stay at this hotel if you want GREAT service,yes there are cheaper hotels in town and we haven't stayed in any of them,so we can't say for sure this one is better,but we will never know for ourselves because we will only stay at this hotel when we return to the Pensacola area.

This hotel is located directly on beautiful Pensacola Beach, with it's white sand and green water.
The staff is unbelievably friendly. We did not encounter a staff member who did not greet us with a smile and ask us how we were doing...... to a person, they were polite, professional, and friendly.
Rooms are competively priced, and given the value of the service recieved, it adds up to a great value.

We LOVED this facility. The location and property are beautiful and the view of the gulf was wonderful. The best part was the customer service received from ALLstaff members we came in contact with. This is the BEST service we have ever encountered and would definitely stay again and Rex,mend to anyone.

I was looking for a place to stay with the kids for spring break..i was reading many reviews on hotels..we've stayed in holiday inn express before and always had good experiences..but i must say...the staff here are great..friendly..from morning(melaine and timothy..breakfast staff) til night...all great people!! The view is awesome..and the hotel is close to everything!! Great place to stay.

The staff at this hotel are fantastic, they know it's their job to take care of the guests and it's appreciated! The front desk people, the breakfast area staff, the maid service, even the guy handling the beach rentals. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and attentive. Well done Holiday Inn! Add to that the great location and great view, this is the place to stay in Pensacola.
Besides the beach, saw the blue angels practice, spent the day at the naval air museum, and went deep sea fishing with Swoop in Destin. All highly recommended!

Breakfast crew was the best. Always helpful, nice and courteous and always had smiles on their faces. Beds and pillows so comfy. Only disappointment...made reservations through priority club service and was told they would request a rollaway for us and the charge would be $30 for the entire stay - upon arrival was told no rollaway and would have been $30 per night.

We just drove up to this hotel and luckily they had one vacancy. Stayed the night and went on, but we're thinking of coming back and staying a week, it was so nice. Every room facing the ocean, and very quiet for sleeping. Great staff, too. Clean room, comfortable bed. Would like a suite next time. Very close in to everything, also. Just wish the pool were heated.

We travel extensively on business and pleasure, world wide. We live on the Florida Panhandle and have our choice of Gulf beach hotel options.
We had an excellent experience at the HIE at Pensacola Beach.
All rooms with Gulf view; right on beach; clean. Most of all, the staff was spectacular. Through all departments, front desk, dining staff, to housekeeping the staff was friendly and helpful. They listened to our questions attentively and cordially answered our questions.
Lots of smiles and absolutely NO attitude. Great job.
We will come back and recommend this hotel to others.

We are Holiday Inn Express regulars and have never been disappointed. The only Cons: Like most hotels in the area the prices jump sky high during Spring Break and our room was directly over the patio ping pong table, but other than that the positives far out weigh any negatives. The location is perfect! We were steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches on the Gulf Coast. The room was clean and comfortable and the Staff is 2nd to none. Every staff person...the front desk staff, breakfast hostesses, building engineers and cleaning staff greeted us with a smile and a friendly comment/conversation. (Even when we passed one of them in the parking lot as they were leaving their shift!) Could give Disney a run for the money on the " Friendliest Place on Earth"! Hope to be able to return with the rest of our family sometime! Highly Recommended!

Beverly and her staff do a fantastic job! We have been staying at this hotel for many years and I have to say it just gets better every time. Great attention to detail and a genuine desire to be sure your stay is a great one. I travel a great deal and stay at high end hotels across the US. None has a better staff. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Pensacola Beach.
