Had to make a quick trip to Philly for medical reasons and this was the perfect spot to stay.....quiet, great view of the river, ease of getting to the Children's Hospital. Staff was friendly, breakfast was plentiful. Beds/pillows were comfortable. Room/bathroom was clean. Has a safe to lock valuables in room.
Only downside I could see was trying to walk to a place for dinner....seemed to be a long hike, especially with a child with a walking disorder.

We needed a base of operation to do our tourist thing and hoped that this Holiday Inn Express would meet our expectations. It definitely met or exceeded our expectations. We arrived early so had to wait to check in. The front desk person secured our bags and gave us a claim check. BTW, front desk staff is first rate. All of them. Especially Nick. We had lunch across the street at the Waterfront Deli. We were happy to discover that our room on the 3rd floor was quiet, clean, well appointed and reasonably spacious. Bathroom was very nice and clean with Moen, Kohler and American Standard fixtures. The lever was loose on the tub; we encountered the building engineer in the hallway and he tightened it immediately (plus gave us complementary chocolates). That was easy. The bathroom's night light worked reliably and made for a very safe nighttime experience. Desk and chair worked in concert to enable easy use of the hotel's free wifi on our laptop. There were places to keep two pieces of luggage off the floor. HVAC unit was quiet and had a thermostat. It required me to switch between heat and cool. Not rocket science. We had a corner room so received light from two directions. Nice. The real prize in our room was NO BUGS! I hate bugs. I have hard-won experience with those little devils and found zero trace. We stayed for a week and had no annoying interactions with lunatic neighbors as well, inside or outside. No bugs, no lunatics. Perfect. Cozy bed was comfortable with four big pillows. I tend to disassemble the cozy bed during the night to get cool. The housekeeping crew never said a word and reassembled it each day. They were reliably friendly and sweet. Couldn't ask for more. Free breakfast buffet was hearty and plentiful. Beautifully cooked bacon was available until the hordes of bacon fans ate it all. Couldn't have done a better job myself. The buffet staff was as busy as bees. They were patient, hard-working and obviously happy to be providing such good service at what is probably a thankless task. It was very nice to have a shuttle vehicle available to expand the range of our tourist activities. Drivers were happy to help and knew their way around. No concierge, no pool, no spa and no massages. All in all just perfect. Especially at the price. A bargain. We of course read the reviews of this hotel and found the recurring negative comments about the traffic and public transport noise to be troubling. We both sleep lightly. The room's windows are double-pane and the building is well insulated so the "noise" was absolutely not an issue. I've lived next to I-80 in Calumet City and out in the sticks in Pensacola. I'd say that the background sound in this hotel is like the sound maybe six or eight blocks west of Wrigley Field on Addison street in the three flat neighborhood. You know, city sound that doesn't keep a baby awake.

Fairly easy to access, location is at the Delaware River waterfront and interesting; no problems parking or checking in/out. Complimentary shuttle service and breakfast are a plus. Rooms are smallish but clean and comfortable.
