I have had the oportunity of frequenting Holiday Inn downtown for the past 5 months.
After bringing some initial "service" type issues to the attention of the manager, the issues were promptly addressed. I could not be more pleased with the effort of the staff now. Thanks, Mr manager for your prompt response.

I was booked into a King Suite, and was told that I was upgraded to a King Suite with a Jacuzzi tub. The room had no lounge chair and ottoman. The only chair in the room was a desk chair. The room had no kleenex didpenser, and no tissue box.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ACprob Staff was rude and AC did not work
The woman at the front desk was rude when I told her that the AC did not work in my room. She said she would call maintenance. A half hour later, I called her again and she said maintenance would be in in the morning. and all she could do was give me another room. I said I needed another room - Phoenix is hot - and she hung up on me. I packed up all my stuff and went downstairs and had to move to a new room. It was only two doors down, so she could have saved me time by telling me that so I didn't have to pack everything up.

Overall a very good experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean as was the facility.
Plenty of parking was available. Conveniently located for our needs.
I will stay here again on a future Phoenix visit.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by downindowntown8 Really? No conditioner?
Upon arrival the staff member couldn't find my reservation. This was a common problem as the person checking in next to me, was suffering the same fate. Finally got that sorted out, and got to the room which was fine, initially, only to find out they did not provide conditioner. Shampoo and lotion, yes. No conditioner. Being used to staying at HIE's and expecting certain amenities, I didn't bring any with me. I was informed I could buy some in the shop. Also, breakfast on the weekends didn't start until 7, causing me to eat on the run to make it to my 730 meetings. Again, used to breakfast starting at 6.
For what I paid for the room, food, conditioner, and a knowledgeable staff would have been nice. I will stay elsewhere on my next trip to Phoenix

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by frequenttravelerr Nice place, overall friendly, helpful staff
Front desk staff during the week days were exemplary: helpful, professional, courteous.
The one service frustration was that the public business center computer did not have the correct pdf/adobe software to print out boarding passes, and the phone in the business center would not accomodate toll free outgoing calls for airline assistance. ( The cell service in that space was not possible.) When we spoke to the weekend staff member, he was not helpful, or friendly.
Overall, a truly great stay---convenient, comfortable. You will enjoy downtown Phoenix with this hotel as your home base.
