Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Some front desk staff need "attitude adjustment" I was initially very impressed with this hotel due to he kids bunk suite. Housekeeping is very good and most hotel staff are generally polite. We have been staying at this location for every Christmas over the past 4 years. Sometimes, we even stay during a mid year visit to Kansas. My most recent visit in Dec-2014 was very disappointing. The TV in kids room was not working and I complained twice. The third day, I walked over to the front desk and expressed my frustration and asked the front desk to either fix the TV or move us to a different room. I was told by the lobby attendant that I am not the one to give him options rather, he is the one who will tell me what my options are and was very rude and arrogant. It makes me wonder if this is some "Government run institution". I also wonder: Is this what they say "Southern Hospitality" ?. At this point, it was not about the TV anymore. It was about the hotel staff telling me that he will give me the options !! The Asst. GM was very polite and left me a note in addition to a note from the maintenance person. This was a kind gesture but I see no regrets from the person who was rude. I hope he changes his attitude because there are many hotel choices and might ruin the reputation of this establishment. I would also recommend the front lobby person who was rude to me to watch couple episodes of "Hotel Impossible". It might change his attitude for good. I hope the owners take this seriously and make some changes. I want to conclude this review by saying that I was disappointed and I may consider staying at Joplin next time !! I would normally NOT recommend this property. However, I have stayed many times and this is the first time I faced an issue. Hence, I am leaning towards recommending this property. Swimming pool was small and fitness center was somewhat lacking but overall a good experience. The heating/cooling unit in room needed reset several times in order to get the desired temperature. However, for some reason at this particular hotel they always try to put me on the first floor even though my reservation requests top floor. Arrived on a Sunday and was told I couldn't move because the hotel was full. Strange. There were 3 cars in the parking lot, majority of lights were off and I didn't see another guest until Monday afternoon. Might be nice to at least "ask" guests where they prefer their room location. Also did not have any hot water at 8 am on a Tuesday morning. And the water pressure was so bad I could hardly wash my hair. December 12, 2014
