Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Just a poorly run hotel We were coming to Pittsburgh for the US Open and this hotel was the closest to the venue when we booked. The reservations were made online with a confirmation email sent to me. When arriving at the hotel we were overcharged $500 for the rooms and had the most unpleasant experience with the front desk in attempting to resolve the issue. After spending 2 hours on the phone with IHG customer service, I was assured that the issue had been resolved and the manager would contact me the following day when he returned at the hotel. I never recieved the phone call. When we recieved our final bill it was still incorrect. The young lady at the front desk this time was very helpful and immediately corrected the error and finally, after 2 days, we were paying the amount quoted online. Not a pleasant experience. The hotel itself is average. There is a smoking area at the front entrance of the hotel and the stench of the smoke hangs in the air around you as you enter the hotel. The rooms were fine, beds comfortable. Because of all the financial gyrations with the price of the rooms it appeared that the hotel and the front desk personnel were attempting to overcharge for the rooms, if they could get away with the deception. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Greentree Stayed here after a pirate game. They did not have any rollaway beds available and it seemed like it was a difficulty to ask the front desk staff for extra blankets. Other than that, the hotel was up to par for a HIX. June 15, 2016
