We had a good visit at this Holiday Inn Express. I do think that the price is too high for a Holiday Inn Express. They are clearly only able to charge this because it is the only decent option near the airport. The shuttle drive, Albert, was so great!

several hotels in area boast remodeled,but this older hotel is still in great shape,usual good breakfast,room was quiet comfortable,airport at end of there driveway ,restaurant in parking lot staff is great,good service and very friendly and helpful,definately worth a look when coming to this area

The bathroom needs a night-light -- twice during the night I walked into the closet instead of the bathroom. The breakfast had no fruit -- just breads and pancakes and yogurts. The bed was comfortable. The road getting to it was dark and potholed, and there were very few signs helping me find it. It was overpriced for what you get.

Holiday Inn Wilkes-Barre Scranton was a solid choice for a place to stay while passing through the area. I was at first afraid of staying next to the airport, but never heard a single plane take-off/land. The hotel is a bit dated and is showing its age around the edges, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were nice and helpful, and the overall stay was good.

I have stayed here twice in 2 weeks time, and will probably stay again. It is convenient for what I do in the area and a nice place with very nice staff. They need a jacuzzi pool though.

This was our first visit to Penn. and we were in for a surprise. The area is stunning - with all the hill and valleys , its a picture everywhere you turn ! And to top it off , a super comfortable room in a clean hotel. What more could we ask for ? We enjoyed ourselves ! Thanks everyone

The rooms were great. The staff supported me with everything I asked for. The gentleman on the front desk gave up his parking space for me since there was no parking spaces available. There seems to be some kind of Park & Ride policy there at the hotel. By allowing these personal to leave their cars/trucks on the property, parking became very difficult. The vehicles were parked there from Thursday night (my arrival) until I left on Sunday. And every time I returned to the hotel, there were no spaces available. This is a big issue that needs to be fixed. Those trucks and cars should be required to park in the Midtown Tavern lot when they leave for the weekends, therefore giving the parking spaces to the hotel guests who are coming in for the weekend. We had to park in the Midtown Lot, and walk in the rain to get to the hotel.
Totally unnecessary. Getting soaked really put a black cloud on our stay (no pun intended).

The front desk was very helpful in resolving some difficulties with my reservation due to some issues with the web site. When I had forgotten my phone in the room, they found it for me and ran it over to the airport, which I greatly appreciated. The airport shuttle service is very helpful in general and the staff very pleasant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. After a long day of driving, it was a pleasure to be welcomed by a very pleasant desk clerk. The room was wonderful and well kept. This was a 5 star experience all the way around.

Ideal for anyone who lives outside the immediate area and uses the airport next door to fly in or out during the wee hours! The staff is well-informed and helpful, and the facility is excellent. We slept very comfortably. Also appreciated the availability of extended-time parking for our vehicle, as well as the use of the shuttle to and from the airport. Great experience!!

Passed through the area many times but never stayed at this hotel until now. You would never know you were near an airport. Very quiet and relaxing. We'll stay here again.

Although this facility is located at the airport there is minimal noise from aircraft. It is also secluded from the highway noise near by. With this said, you can get a quite restful sleep at this facility. The staff is very friendly and always accommodating. The rooms are comfortable and the extra amenities (ie: refrigerator, microwave, &wiifi) are great. Whenever we are traveling through or to the area it is our second home away from home.

Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathroom is clean and spacious. Wish the shower was a bit more powerful and that shower caps were offered.
Bed extremely comfortable and the King is very, very kingsize, bigger than my king bed at home.

We had the opportunity to stay here on our driving trip back from the Masters. While situated close to the airport, little noise was heard. Having a bar and grill situated across the parking lot was great allowing us to walk a late supper.
Friendly greeting from front desk girl, giving priority club gift bags containing bottled water and snacks were a nice welcome. Rooms were large and we were given connecting rooms without even asking (group of 4 in 2 rooms). Mini-fridge was working and kept our drinks cool overnight.
Breakfast in the morning was good, even though the lady working it seemed to be more interested in watching tv. A problem with the pancake machine had to wait for her to finally come and check even though I tried to get her attention. She did however ask how many pancakes I wanted and broght them to me.

The place is a rat hole. I only stayed here because I had an early morning flight at AVP. Next time I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Dickson City and waking up 20 min earlier to make it to the airport on time. Staying at this hotel reminded me why I'm glad my family and I moved out of Northeast PA.

Nothing gets me ready for the day better than a hot shower. Unfortunately that wasn't going to happen here as the hot water only reached luke warm, YIKES! I called the front dest and was told I was the second guest to complain and they will raise the temp, as it appeared someone had lowered it, but it will be awahile before it hits the room.
Wow, you really needed to be told to raise the temp level,

This was not my first stay at this location and I will give it one more try. Sometimes things are out of our control and that is what happened here. However I am most disappointed with the leadership at this location. The entire hotel lost it's hot water from evening to the next morning. I had to wash my hair using a caraffe of hot water from the coffee maker.
What was most disturbing was the staff's inability to be proactive in several other issues. Like a clock in the fitness room that needed a battery and what I was told was that "it was not the battery, it was broken." Then the clock should have been removed. A similar situation occurred with creased and smeared hotel receipts and was told its been like that for 2 weeks!
The manager for such an extreme event was not present nor did they come in early to assist. When I called later that afternoon I was told "He just left."
This is not the kind of service I received at other HI locations so I place blame on the hotel and regional leadership. The staff seemed like they wanted to do something but seemed afraid to be proactive. This is not good.

Hotel is located just off Hwy 81, very easy access. Staff were efficient and friendly, hotel common areas clean, bright and cheery. Excellent sports bar/restaurant adjacent. Very positive experience overall.

2nd night in a row we used Priority Club pts for our stay.Once again we were immediately recognized as members and offered an upgrade to a suite. If possible the suite was even better than the night before. Staff was outstanding!

This was our first time at this particular Holiday Inn. We would come again. There is a restaurant just across the parking lot which was so convenient for supper. The morning continental breakfast was excellent and the lady who was responsible for making sure the food was there was very friendly. We had to ask "again" if they gave "Priority Members" a little something at registration. She then apologized and we were rewarded with water and a small snack. We would stay here again next year when we make our way to Florida. Thanks for a comfortable stay....

I stay at this facility at least once per month and the staff has always been very congenial. It is also a great value for the area. Also, every time I've stayed at this facility I've been acknowledged as a Priority Club Platinum member and usually given a free upgrade.

I've stayed at this hotel many times in the past. It was really a nice hotel and the staff treated me very well. However, as time went on, the rooms degraded. Furniture deteriorated and was not replaced. I was especially disappointed this stay that there were no ice machines and I could not get on the internet. You had to get ice from the desk clerk if she was available. A lamp next to the bed had a broken switch, not even wired, just setting in the hole in the base. The sofa was stained since it was there forever. There was an empty toilet paper core under the sink, which was not in itself a big deal, but prompted a question about the cleaning techniques.
We were supposed to stay 3 nights but we checked out after the first and moved to another Holiday Inn Express closer to Wilkes-Barre. When I called for reservations at this location, I mentioned that the airport location was ready to be turned into a Ramada or Days Inn., it is definitely far below the par of a Holiday Inn Express.
By the way, we were on a 10 day trip and stayed at Holiday Inn Express hotels every night. For 3 nights, I used 2 rooms since there was another couple with us.

This HEI location is one of my favorites. The hotel staff is very friendly and courteous. They recognize me as being Priority Club Platinum when checking in and usually give me a complimentary room upgrade. This hotel is always very clean when is stay there.
