Incledible!...6pm sharp...all noise gone....they promised and delivered. thank you for a great night of sleep. May 5, 2014

Only slight issues...first night no phone in room, staff corrected that witihin minutes and next time we went at end of vacation there was no door on the safe, once again staff rectified that within minutes of making call. Overall, my family and I stayed in two rooms for a total of four nights each. We had many difficulties with room keys not working, one of the rooms air conditioning didn't work and when going to the front desk, a long wait was usual. Not up to any of the Holiday Inn Expresses I have stayed in throughout the world. March 27, 2014

I recommend it if you need a decent hotel chain experience. As an American, this gives you the comfort and convenience of an American standard. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst experince ever at IHG brands The room was facing the street and the noise from outside and the motor lobby did not let me sleep at all, breakfast it's like dog food. Towels and bed clothes in very poor condition , it seems thye haven't been replaced since hotel open. They did not recognize my IHG Platinum status , I had asked front desk to allow me to make a late check out , according to the IHG Platinum member offer and they decline it. there was only one trash can at the room, 2 of the 6 lamps didn't work, tv remote was running out of batteries. Over all it was a really bad experince, will not recommend this locations neither for business or leisure. March 22, 2014

We always stay at the Holiday Inn because it's clean, affordable, great breakfast and the pool is very nice and clean. The bonus for us is that it is walking distance to 5th avenue and surrounding areas. March 12, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst IHG experience ever Starting, I was not recognized as a IHG gold member, even presenting my membership card. For the receptionist didn't represent absolutely anything. The hotel's walls looks like paper, I could hear my neighbor sneezing, unbelievably I could hear each step in the corridor. Considering the hotel is placed in a "party" zone, around 3 am, when people starts come back, looked like they were laughing and screaming in front of bed, inside my room. The hotel is located in front a small airport, and again at 6:30 - 7:00am the planes start take off at this time. Summarizing, I could not sleep during the whole nights I stayed there. I understand the hotels' express concept, but sound blocker, and decent breakfast could provide a less uncomfortable experience. Anyway, again, was the worst experience ever in an IHG's hotel brand March 7, 2014

This hotel is not at the beach or near 5th Avenue, but the free (one-way) hotel shuttle brings guests to the beach every hour during the day. Walking to 5th Avenue and the beach is also possible. That only takes 15-20 minutes. The staff is very friendly. Parking is free, WiFi is free and in the business center one can use computers and printers. The swimming pool is decent. The hotel provides beach passes. January 8, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy room The hotel location and the design and layout of the room is all fine, as is the service. We had a sleepless night from the noise of the air conditioning, no choice as the windows are sealed, and what sounded like elevator motors, even though we weren't near them, or maybe washing machines and dryers running all night. Got up early, sampled the nasty fake orange juice for breakfast, slimy yogurt and awful coffee. Left early for a decent breakfast somewhere else. January 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fine business hotel This is a typical Holiday Inn Express hotel, focused on business travelers, however you can see a lot of tourists too. BEWARE, it is not located on the tourist area of Playa del Carmen, it is about 20 min walk from there. The facilities are OK, staff is friendly, however they do not anything exceptional from their job. There are no restaurants nearby (walking), so if you need to grab something for dinner you have to order in (typically from Dominos Pizza). The most importante downside of this hotel is that they do not offer Wi-Fi Access in the rooms, only wired (they say they are about to offer Wi-Fi, but that has been on since Jan 2013). Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The breakfast bar doesn't have bare essentials as needed I've stayed at this hotel 4 times now and have never had any complaints. The hotel is clean, the staff is always courteous and helpful and the rooms are the same as all the other IHG hotels I've stayed at in the past which would easily amount to be more than one hundred, I'm sure. The only area which needs to be addressed is the breakfast bar. For instance, they had bread and a toaster for making toast with but they didn't have any jam or jelly to put on it. How good is that? Also, I wanted to eat some cereal but they were out of milk! September 24, 2013

The service was friendly, the hotel was very clean, the room was suffice ( not as wonderful as HI Express in Canada and USA. We would recommend this hotel as a stop over or for business but, it is to far away from the holiday scene to be a vacation stop. September 9, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by an excellent experience We stayed at HI playa del Carmen for a couple of nights on July 2013. It was full summer season and the hotel was nearly at top capacity. Having stayed at many IHG hotels I consider this one an excellent choice: it a a new building, rooms are very clean and spacious, it has comfortable beds and a good bathroom. The public areas are generous, though at full occupation can be a bit crowded, particularly the breakfast area. None the less waiting time is minimum and the food was quality good. It does have a small pool to refresh after a long vacation day. Its location is strategic if you plan to visit archaeological sites like Tulum and Coba, attraction parks like Xcaret, Xplore and Xel-Ha or walk on Playa´s Fifth avenue. You will definitive need a car to move along the area. July 31, 2013

No saben dar informes. No hay internet en las habitaciones. Los pasillos de las habitaciones obscuras (tal vez por ahorro de energia) Camas mal tendidas. El "Gerente" nunca se encuentra. No hay quien de la cara al cliente. Tardaron años en enviarme mi factura (No tenian para comprar un toner). Pretextos para todo....es la segunda vez que me hospedo en este hotel y la ultima...No regresare jamas!!! July 23, 2013

The staff were always courteous and most helpful. This is our 3rd time staying at this HIExpress and we plan on going back again in the near future! The breakfast buffet was exceptional, with the best brewed coffee in the area. March 30, 2013

The location was a bit isolated and not having the restaurant going out in the evening for diner was a bit annoying if you are tired and you wish to relax. The breakfats was not as fresh as expected! Also the courtesy shuttle downton was one way while it could have been organised in a better way. Not particularly cheap but in line with the area! January 7, 2013
