Upon check in the front desk attendant was nice, but had little knowledge of places to eat. This is disappointing to out of town guests.
The next morning at breakfast was chaos. I went down to breakfast at 8:00 (breakfast goes till 10:00) many items were low or out. Eggs were out, bread, milk, and bagels down to the last one or two. Being a home Notre Dame, breakfast was busy. Guests were waiting around for items to be filled. This should not happen. The breakfast attendant never spoke. There was no "good morning" "how are you". I was disappointed in the property's ability to keep up with the breakfast crowd at prime breakfast time and on a busy game day morning.
The young lady at the front desk on Saturday morning was very pleasant and friendly.
As a platinum member I have stayed a many IHG properties around the country. This stay did not meet my expectations.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Helene801 fine stay but billing problems
I found my stay to be adequate and pleasant. I stayed only one night and received a bill for the price quoted at time of reservation. Then on my credit card statement there was a charge for two nights and a charge for one night. We waited to see if it was corrected and unfortunately it was the one night charge that was removed leaving us over charged. Over many days of phone calls and messages it is now resolved. But I was told repeatedly that it had been taken care of and I should go through my bank's process for contesting the charge. When I finally reached a higher level of management and threatened to go even higher it was suddenly taken care of. This is not good customer service.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by miatmom Not The Usual, but staff made up for this
We have stayed at this hotel for three years for athletic competitions in area. Despite being told there were fridge, microwave and phones in room, we found no functioning phone jacks (corroborated by maintenance), no fridge and no micro. We were able to use micro near vending machines Friday and Saturday until that disappeared Saturday night? Ice machine was not working on first floor (where we stayed) we went up to third floor to keep getting ice for our cooler---- since we had no fridge. We always stay three days and 2 nights and bring our own food as we leave hotel before 6 and return late in evening.
Despite the unusual lack of amenities, the staff was extremely helpful and responsive, trying to make up for room issues.
Brenda and Jackie on the front desk went out of their way to accommodate us as best they could and the manager also followed up and gave us very generous deduction on room rate.
Will we stay again? Yes, the location, amenities and staff have been very, very commendable in the past and we hope this year's stay was just a fluke. We appreciate the consideration and attention the staff gave to issues when approached. The cleanliness and comfort of room made up for lack of usual appliances/etc..

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BradW515 Solid oasis from a storm.
After having to drive THROUGH an actual tornado to get there, this hotel was a beautiful site to see!
The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, and all was well.
The only, small negative was that after a power outage due to the storms, the staff did not know how to reset the wifi.
A minor hitch in an otherwise pleasant stay.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sarah11 Spatious room and difficult to get service
The bottom line is that holiday in express is the only hotel that I'll stay at when I'm working in Plymouth, Indiana. The room was spacious and I didn't feel like I had to squeeze to walk around furniture, And I got a pretty good nights rest. The rooms tend to feel damp and musty, however, and the front desk service was terrible. The woman working the desk Was kind, polite, and helpful but there was apparently only one person working downstairs because she was frequently running around the counter in and out of rooms and trying to help all of the guests on her own

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by JKLC1 Poor Maid Service
Two night stay. Was told that there would be bottled water in the room by the front desk attendant. There was none.
Left the hotel for the day at 11 am the morning after the first night and came back late in the day to find that the room had not been cleaned / made up after the first night. The front desk attendant was essentially non-responsive / un-appologetic about the issue.
It appears to me that either the maid service is poorly trained or not properly supervised. How do you forget to clean a room? Is there not a check-off sheet that confirms which rooms have been cleaned?

Everything was fine. I just want to make one recommendation. The weekend we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Plymoth, IN was the weekend of the Notre Dame Southern Cal football game which was played at night. By the time we got out of the parking garage, made it through the traffic around the stadium and drove to the motel it was 2:00 a.m. On those weekends when there is a night game, we recommend that you extend the breakfast time to 11:00 a.m. the next day. If you can't do that, then it is your job to tell Notre Dame to do away with night games!!!!

Stay served its purpose - a 2 night stay for a Notre Dame football game and visiting relatives in Plymouth. However, I was very disappointed with a pungent overwhelming sickening odor in the room (105). It smelled like cleaning people sprayed way too much air freshner or carpet cleaner was spilled or something. It was so bad I nearly asked to change rooms but didn't. I was glad that my only time spent in the room was to sleep. When I got home all my clothing smelled like that room.
