The front desk clerk welcomed us as a rewards member. The inside is always clean and the grounds are kept nice also. The housekeeping staff is cordial. This hotel is our most favorite. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Large room with great amenities We found our room to be larger than other hotels, with very comfortable beds, Bath and Body Works toiletries, a refrigerator and a microwave, and a nice breakfast assortment. My only complaint is that the shower water was not hot enough; it was warm but not hot. Other than that, no problems at all. December 3, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great room and awesome bed! This is our fourth stay. The room was wonderful. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Only down side... I would recommend not staying on the bottom floor by the breakfast area if there is a choice. It is a bit noisy at breakfast time. I would also say the breakfast overall is good but the egg dish seems too processed and not very tasty-but all that said I would definitely stay again bc of the room,service and bed! Great stay! Working nights( 6P-6A ) the only way to have the room serviced was to stay up past 9am or get up before 230 pm. Had hospitality call my room at 215 waking me to see if I needed anything even tho the do not disturb card was in the door. Also they don't recognize that you are a long time IHG rewards member. I would usually have to leave around 5 to get to the plant. It was so nice to feel secure in a place you have never been before. Great feeling. September 2, 2013

Very clean, very hospitable, and most importantly the staff actually cared about what was happening with it's guests. I was asked if there was anything I needed by the front staff, the wait staff at breakfast, and even one of the ladies who cleans the rooms! It is an excellent location right next to the mall. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Service / Poor My wife and I have always stayed at the Holiday Inn Express when traveling, but this particular time after returning to our room after going all day, the room had not been clean, no towels, and we always placed our used towels in the bath tube after usage. My wife and I had eaten in our room, so the trash cans had not been empty and room wasn't smelling fresh as i prefer. As always going all day visiting with family, tired and ready to enjoy a fresh bed and the nice comfort of my room and watch TV, I had to start emptying trash, my bed had to be fresher and went down stairs to get clean towels. The authorization was on hand when I checked in. This was verified by the clerk on duty. When I checked out my personal card had been used for the bill. This was reversed while I was still in the hotel. However, two days later the charge appeared through my debit card. Very disappointing that people don't do their job. Other than this, the experience was nice. This is a beautiful property! August 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Slow Housekeeping and No Recognition I got to my room around 3:45 pm and it was not cleaned yet. Finally after 4pm housekeeping knocked on my door to clean the room. I could not believe it was past 4 and they were still doing rooms. Also upon Check in was not greeted as a Platinum Member, got no extra's for staying, like chips and bottle of water or something. Asked for top floor in reservations and was put on 2nd floor, when asked to go to top floor told rooms have already been determined. My business partner who was not a priority member was on the higher floor...... July 29, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Graduation/Birthday Celebration Trip My daughter and I stayed at this hotel while visiting family for her 21st Birthday. The hotel staff was very friendly and our rooms were clean and comfortable. The cleaning team typlically woke us up early (around 8am...if we forgot to put the do not disturb sign on the door). But when I asked them to come back later in the day....they always arranged to do so. On this particular trip, I learned that the front doors were locked after a certain time. And because we arrived late (after 11pm) to check in we had to ring the buzzer for the front desk clerk. As well, I had asked for a room on the 4th floor, but she had given my room away and then placed us on the 2nd floor. I always stay at this hotel when in the area, and appreciate that a few of the staff remembers me and my family. We always book multiple rooms and travel in a group. Thanks Holiday Inn Express at Central Mall, I will see you all again in the near future. July 2, 2013

Rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable with a digital thermostat in the room (handy in South Texas in the summer). Breakfast was standard fare for full service middle tier hotels; very good.
