I was in Port Charlotte to visit a family member, and this was my first stay in a hotel in the area.
I thought "Express" meant that comfort, room features and amenities would be very basic -- not here! I was pleasantly surprised that there was a refrigerator (with a small freezer, even!), microwave and REAL coffee pot in my room.
And the free breakfast included hot and cold choices, fresh fruit and several kinds of coffee.
All members of the staff were helpful, friendly, - and in one instance answered my question by OFFERING to do something for me. This kind of service is very rare, even in the more "upscale" hotels.
So for me and my stay, "Express" meant EX-cellent!
I'll definitely be back!

From the minute I walked in the staff was helpful and courteous with all my questions and needs. The breakfast bar was as good as any you have to pay for. I will definetly be back if i am in the area.

This location provides a quiet cozy place to rest from area activities, conveniently located near highway and big store shopping; rooms are small but comfortable; pool small but well maintained,same with fitness room.Breakfast is what you expect from hotels at this level;simple but good enough;this property maintains the pantry area very well- neat,clean and cozy. Lobby desk was cold but warmed up by the end of our stay. Beds were well above average and very comfortable. Housekeeping was attentive to needs while we were away;room was neat and all towels and amenities were provided; however if you need to sleep in and need late afternoon service, you will have to ask for it, the main staff completes service by 2 or 3. Staff is conscious of disturbance of guests, hallways were quiet and room attendants do not knock on doors before 10am. Overall, small but very comfortable, clean and neat. Recommended. Will stay again.

The check in and check out staff was verfy polite and helpful. The staff in the kitchen area were verfy polite. The room was extremely clean and comfortable.
I enjoyed my stay at this site very much.

While on a 4th of July motorcycle trip, we had the pleasure of staying here. We had been riding all day, stopped by a Harley shop in port Charlotte, then went to the holiday inn express for some much needed rest from the sun. As I was walking in, the heel from the boots I had just bought at the Harley shop popped off. I was at the desk calling the Harley shop to see if I could return them the next day. They were not open the following day. The thought of getting back on the MC and riding back there was not very appealing. The front desk manager had over heard my conversation and could evidently see my frustration; and offered to drive me to the Harley shop. Unbelievable! Who does this? Tracie drove me there and was so incredibly nice. Our overnight stay at this hotel was wonderful. A special thank you to Tracie. I hope the hotel management is aware of what an outstanding and friendly person they have representing their establishment

Don't wait until you get any further to pull off the highway and get a room. Outstanding service, unbelievably friendly, and very well priced. Additionally, the breakfast was much better than at similar hotels. Great Job Punta Gorda/Deep Creek/Port Charlotte HIExpress!!!

Staff went out of their way to accommodate us when our plans changed at the last minute.
Room was very spacious, bed okay (I'm used to my Select-Comfort mattress at home). I do wish they had exhaust fans in the bathroom.
We love, love, loved the pancake maker at breakfast!!!!

Stayed for 2 nights in May. Room was clean and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable and choice of soft or firm pillows. Staff was very friendly and cookies on check-in counter were absolutely delicious. Located just off I-75 and close to Fort Myers and some beautiful beaches.

The overall experience was excellent. Absolutely a plus to have very soft towels after a little to much sun at the pool. Our balcony room provided us with an awesome and peaceful view of the lake. We also enjoyed seeing the resident alligator in the pond - but thankfully at a good distance. We will definitely choose this hotel again should we be back in Port Charlotte.

The breakfast was adequate, but not great. The eggs were salty and I could not eat them. The second day my group went to Subway for breakfast. The room was okay. The fire alarm went off while we were sleeping. My group proceeded to go to the lobby. The clerk told us the fire department was on it's way but we should go back to our rooms. He stated someone may have been smoking. I did not go back to my room until the fire department gave an all clear for fire. All I could think of was on 9/11 the people in the tower were told to stay on their floor and they died. I just don't think people should be sent back to their rooms until the fire department gives the all clear.

I always go by the freshness of a place. And Holiday Inns have not disappointed yet. The staff is courteous, rooms are clean and smell fresh. Breakfast choices seemed limited but then again I'm not a breakfast kind of guy either.
I would stay there again if I needed to.

The site was clean and the beds were okay. Considering what you have to choose from in the area, I would recommend this hotel. It is definitely one of the best choices in the area. I do think it is a bit pricey, almost double of area hotels. Staff was friendly, but they could have more staff available. The gentleman that checked us in was alone and desperately needed help!

This is my second time staying at this Holiday Inn. I would recommend it everyone. The staff is very polite and helpful with everything you need. The beds are great and there is nothing more relaxing in the evening than sitting on the balcony and watching the various types of wildlife on the lake. I have stayed a a lot of hotels over the years and I would rate this balcony room as among the best!

All went really well. The front desk staff was awesome! Pool was clean and welcoming. Great local restaurants close by and recommended by staff. Only downside was that wake-up calls came late...almost missed a flight. Make sure you set the alarm in the room.

The hotel is very clean and staff were friendly. It was very busy during our staff which led to some overcrowding in the breakfast area. Staff was gracious in trying to accomodate the overflow crowd.
The only negative part of the stay was limited wireless access. They recently remodeled the hotel and removed ethernet cables. The wireless routers don't appear sufficient for the size of the hotel as service was sporadic.

After checking in we went to a local restaurant and ate, returning to our room to watch a little television and get some rest. All is going well until my wife starts to scream. A mouse is running around on the floor. She insisted that I get the mouse out of the room for obvious reasons. I kill the mouse and continue to watch the TV. She insisted that sleeping in this room will be impossible for her. So she goes to the front desk to ask to be moved to another room. The night clerk tells her the hotel is full and offers to give us our money back so we can go to another hotel. Not exactly the response a guest wants or expects to hear a 11 pm. So Holiday Inn Express Port Charlotte you will not be getting any more of our business.

We enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff were awesome and very accommodating! The woman who worked the breakfast area Thursday and Friday was very nice and helpful by recommending things to do in the area. We would definitely recommend staying here!

When I booked this hotel I didn't realize they were in the midst of a renovation.
I wish I was told.
I requested a room on the highest floor which I did receive. Little did I know that even though I booked a "Non-smoking" room I was smelling the rest of the 3rd floor's cigarette smoke from the other guests who smoke--mainly on that floor!
I wish I was told.
Did I mention there was a chair in the outdoor "heated" pool? Apparently, it was windy the night before and it was blown into the pool.
I checked in after 3PM...no one checked the pool area??
The website for this locale states that it has a pool table and darts.
It has neither.
Perhaps after the renovation is done the quirks will be worked out.
I feel I overpaid for basically a bed and a breakfast.
