Not only did we experience attention and concern that all was good and asked if there was anything we needed without us first asking for something, (shows they have genuine concern), when we did have a slight problem with our tv, it was taken care of in less than 5 minutes from when we called down to front desk. When we left, we not only enjoyed what The Beach House had to offer, but walked away feeling that we were treated with excellent courtesy and care. We will definitely plan a longer stay next time and bring friends and family. Thank you HH Beach House and all you wonderful people who went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby that we didn't have to drive anywhere once we got on the island. Rooms were spacious and clean and there are plenty of amenities on the property. I would highly recommend this resort if you're in the area. October 31, 2014

Said, "Should have looked at e-mail" but did not have time to look at e-mail. Hotel quoted rate never thought they would try not to stand behind what they quoted. Called Tracy twice and she was not going to change rate even after I told her I would call corporate. Guess she thought about it as did call back and did lower rate lower than quoted. Had to wait until after 5PM to check in as they said rooms were not ready. Thought check in time was 3PM. No good place to eat on premises. Was going to stay two days but changed mind after our bad experience and they did cancel the 2nd day without a charge. Seems to be a very poorly run place for a Holiday Inn. Would never stay there again as very disappointed with them. October 31, 2014

They told me too bad that they were not going to stand behind rate quoted over phone about 30 minutes before we got there as e-mail sent did not have the same rate. Did not have time to look at e-mail until they charged more than quoted over phone. Tracy did call me back after two calls to her and agreed to adjust the rate lower than quoted. Also, could not check in until after 5PM as room was not ready. Never heard of this before. They did give us a 1PM checkout. Is a poorly run place. Not a good place to eat on the premises. Would never stay there again. We were going to stay two nights but changed our minds after we had so many problems with them. Pretty poor for a Holiday Inn. October 31, 2014

Microwaves have been removed from the rooms. Loud music from the new Porch "night club" ruined the ocean sound, so could not relax even in the sleeping room. This is a smokers hotel since the smoke is sucked right into the building, everything smelled like an ash tray. Given this is the only hotel chain on the beach vice large resort, I do not know where else to stay for the price. Still a great location and decent rooms. Just miss the peace and quiet of the ocean. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by great front desk service and great housekeeping our stay was oct 16-18th... 2 nites and 3 days. good stuff first: we had great front desk service--quick check in, granted our late checkout; efficient bike rental, observed them handle disgruntled guests professionally. housekeeping service was efficient, timely and friendly. location on beach with tiki bar and such was favorable and live music in am and pm was shared. there was no wait at the elevators. it would have been nice with a concierge but it was off season so no worries there. you had notebooks with area eateries in lobby that we used. the complimetary PC's in the lobby were used, but one was always searching/rebooting... tuff stuff: we were upgraded to room 520 ocean view overlooking the main area a/c's. the bathroom tub is chipped and would not drain--while showering there was 2-3 inches of water. room aroma was musty and carpet worn. ceiling plaster appeared to have water damage and the roof top ventilation equipment can be heard all the time. our a/c unit is way outdated and NOISY. no guest services directory notebook available in room. fridge was good thing; but empty spot for microwave--does any room have them? we utilized the tiki bar for drinks--and a fun time that was, but when ordered a sandwich around 3 pm we were told it would be 30-40 minute wait (not a big crowd around#. they suggested we go to the porch for timely service and we did. but no one came to wait on us #not a big crowd around) so we left and went across the street. you dont want guests doing that. this faciltiy is way outdated, way overpriced and in need badly of remodeling and updating. i recommended this resort to my travelling companion because of IHG/Hol Inn affiliation. i cant convey how disappointed and embarassed i was when we got in the room. as it stands today, it is not worthy of IHG/Hol Inn branding. i would suggest you send an undercover guest from IHG/Hol Inn, request you stay in this room and see and hear for yourself. we want you to be aware fo these shortcomings before word gets out that this HI beach resort is a last resort for lodging in H HEAD. Loved being right on the beach, perfect for early morning and late evening walks. Bought the breakfast add-on and it was well worth it. Updated property and rooms were nice. New restaurant and outdoor dinning were great as was the new fire-pit area by the outdoor dinning. Food was excellent as was the service at the Porch and the Tiki Bar. The only challenge we found at this property was that housekeeping would sometimes not arrive to clean room until 5-6 in the evening. That was very unacceptable as you would never know when to expect them. Front desk would promise to have room cleaned by noon but that only occurred 1 time. This problem was not enough to keep us from returning but was an inconvenience. October 21, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Wet and smelly Wet carpet. Smelled like pet urine. My guess is that the room got flooded. We were put off until 6pm when we were finally allowed into our room. Strong smell of cigarette smokers in adjacent rooms. It got better on second night when carpet began to dry. This was a ground floor room, the 'only thing they had' even though we had a reservation. Kelsey at front desk booked a walk-in while I was waiting at front desk and they were given key for identical room with no delay. October 18, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, friendly and comfortable. We spent a long weekend to attend a wedding and get away for a few days. We were very happy with the Beach House. Our room was clean and housekeeping was quick and attentive when we left each day. We had lunch at the Porch a couple of days and our choices were excellent. The chef checked with us each day to ask our opinion of our choices. One hotel employee in particular (I think his name is Grey?) seemed to always be there and making sure things were going smoothly. He was at the front desk when we checked in, I saw him doing something else later. One day he looked in the restaurant and saw it was busy so he started asking people what they needed. He didn't tell us/them he would get somebody to take care of it, he did it. He brought menus, got water/drinks, took orders (never wrote anything down), delivered some of them himself, made sure things were going smoothly and left to do something else. If you need something, find him. The pool area was clean and well maintained and the Tiki bar area was not loud and boisterous. The entertainment during the day was loud enough to hear by the pool but not so loud as to be a distraction. The beach is wide and clean. Something to note is that there ore no street lights anywhere so if you will be walking to/from restaurants at night bring a flash light. If you will be driving, be careful. There are public bike racks along the edge of the parking lot. The bike racks near the front of the hotel are part of a rental concession and the bikes there are for rent. There are signs that explain this. October 17, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by problem fixed quickly We were staying an overnite at the Beach House on HHI... and had just returned to our room after a nightcap at the Tiki Bar and enjoyable evening watching their live entertainment. As we got ready to relax for the night in our room, he turned on the tv..or attempted to and the remote didn't work. I called down to the front desk and when they heard our problem they apologized and said someone would be right up. Well we have heard the "right up" before at other hotels, and wondered if we would have to do a reminder call. Within 3 minutes there was a knock at our door, and a gentleman had a new remote which he promptly traded for our broken one. He said it probably needed batteries. We thanked him for his promptness. It definitely showed us that this hotel was concerned with our comfort and aimed to please. Just another reason that we will continue to visit the Beach House in HHI. ... October 16, 2014
