Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellant Service Hi - We have stayed at this hotel many times because we can depend on the excellent service & quality of the hotel. On our last visit the elevator was out of service. The Desk Host automatically gave us 1,000 Priority Points for the inconvenience. That's the way you take good care of your customers! Besides, the walk up one flight of stairs was good for us! October 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable but Difficult to Get To The hotel itself is very nice. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The Internet service was fast and reliable and the bathroom toiletries were excellent. Cable TV selection was limited, but I was only there for one night so that wasn't a deal breaker. Breakfast at the hotel was good -- the pancake machine didn't seem to be working which was a bit of a disappointment. The only real complaint I have is that the hotel does not provide shuttle service. I came in from Chicago on the South Shore train and paid big bucks for the cab ride to the hotel and to my event the following day. October 23, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pet Friendly.....BUT WE checked into the Holiday Inn and the reception person was wonderful, very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and I even got a Great restaurant recommendation from him. Then came the papers to sign for having a dog, I am used to the standard ones BUT I had to sign we would not leave our dog alone in the room, I said so "When we go out for dinner , we have to bring her along ?" and the answer was yes. It was a HOT late September day in Portage and my husband and I were leaving at 4 AM so we wanted an early dinner . We had to wait until after 6 to go out because the sun was too hot and it would have been inhuman to leave my dog in the car. Luck was on our side that it cooled off and there was a bit of a breeze so when we did eat she was fine. I would think if you had Time limits on leaving the dogs, lets say after 8 somebody would have to be with them so as not to disturb other rooms. The room was clean , The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was OK. September 30, 2014
