Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Should open their pool later They open their pool at 9 AM, which means you can't swim before breakfast or leaving for a long drive. When I remarked on this, the desk told me they would have been happy to open it for me earlier. Too late to use it, unfortunately. But why post opening at 9 AM if you will open it earlier? Otherwise, a nice HIE but located on a major highway with large trucks going by. December 4, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by broken promises We booked a 2 queen bed suite using IHG reward points. The day before arrival we were bumped to a smaller room because we were not "paying customers". Upon checkin I was promised extra points to make up for this. They never showed up on my account. As a platinum elite customer I am VERY dissapointed in the treatment we received from this location. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Portales - a Good Place to Stop I've been passing through Portales fairly regularly for about 40 years. I've stayed at several of the town's accommodations and, at present, I find the Holiday Inn Express Portales to be the most comfortable and suitable for my needs. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast is the best I have encountered at any hotel or motel in the vicinity. As my wife is mobility limited, we tend to stay in handicapped rooms. The handicapped rooms and bathrooms can be navigated comfortably in a wheelchair. The showers have tubs and are not roll-in accessible, but the staff in Portales have always been able to provide a shower chair capable of handling a transfer from a wheelchair. November 9, 2014
