Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WORST STAFF EVER THIS HOTEL WAS RAN BY AN 17 YEAR OLD WITH A HUGE CHIP ON HER SHOULDER! VERY BAD ATTITUDE. THERE IS NO MANAGEMENT AT THIS LOCATION,SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE, NOTHING WORKED IN THE ROOMS AS WELL! GOT KICKED OUT OF OUR HOTEL BECAUSE THE YOUNG GIRL CALLED THE COPS AND LIED TO THEM LIKE SHE LIED TO US. WE COULD NOT GET INTO OUR ROOM AND THAT WAS OUR FAULT. I WOULD SUGGEST TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! July 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptional Experience My best friend and I traveled from Oklahoma to Roswell, NW but decided to stop in Portales and stay so the kids could swim and we could rest. Once we got there, we went up to our room and someone else's belongings were in the room, so they upgraded us from a standard double queen to a double queen suite. The rooms are extremely clean, the beds were comfortable and the tv had many Direct TV channels, the pool was nice, and the complimentary breakfast was mind-blowing as they had almost any type of breakfast items you can possibly think of. Overall, I would highly suggest this hotel. Excellent choice. BUT, do not eat at El Rancho, it is by far the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. July 14, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Probably best in Portales There aren't many choices in Portales, and this is probably the best one. It is a clean and consistent place. The room air conditioner could go colder. They never seem to get cool enough. The fitness center door has not worked for the four weeks I have stayed there. The fitness center equipment continues to deteriorate. The first time the elliptical was broken, and now one of the treadmills. I do not have faith that it will be fixed. The hotel staff are average for friendliness and attentiveness. The one exception is Jo in the breakfast area. She keeps it clean, the correct temperature, and she remembers your name and what you like for breakfast. She is the best part of my stay in the HIE at Portales. July 14, 2014
