Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Customer service I arrive late and was given a key to my room. It did not work. I returned the the front desk and they had to "reset" my key. I went back to my assigned room only to open the door and find the room already occupied. Back to the front desk to receive a shallow apology with the promise to hear from the manager. I was assigned a "new" room. I never did hear from the manager. I will not stay at this location ever again. June 22, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and great service I'd stayed at this hotel a few years ago and knew it would be the ideal location for our overnight stay this time. It was as I remembered. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. My only concern was how low the bed was in the handicapped room. I asked about this and was told it met ADA standards. After looking at the new ADA standards, I see the hotel is correct. I'd recommend the handicapped room at this hotel. June 17, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Internet Connection - Poor Breakfast We have stayed at this hotel on several occasions now whilst visiting our son at Concordia University Portland. On each occasion, the breakfast has not been very satisfactory. On this last occasion, there was no bacon, no bread, and the pancake machine did not work. The lady working there was not at fault, she just did not have the food supplies to cook and it was only 9 am on a Sunday morning. Also the internet does not function very well and constantly cuts out. This apparently according to the receptions staff has been a problem for about a month now and on the two occasions we have stayed int he last month the internet has been terrible. June 7, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location near Portland International Raceway We were in town for the Rugged Maniac 5k fun run at the Portland International Raceway. The Raceway was about 2 miles or so from the hotel which made it a wonderful choice for a 9am start time. The breakfast spread was amazing!! There was defiantly something for everyone! Everything tasted fantastic! We were able to come back and shower before heading back to Washington! The front desk agent was warm and friendly! We forgot our bathing suits or we would have used the pool/Jacuzzi. We will be using this hotel next year when we go to the Rugged Manic 5k! June 2, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Eveythings OK, except the doorlock We, the 2 couples, checked-in at evening on 5/28/2014. We wished to checked-out at 7:00am on 5/29/2014 for homing. We took the excellent breakfast there at 6:30am, and liked very much the lady servant working in the breakfast room for her good kindness. However, my friend's couple could not get into their room for defective doorlock. Luckily, another helpful lady staff at counter called a technician immediately to rectify. Finally, we all could check-out at 9:00am. It wasted 2 hours for us. It's because we had to drive for another 9 to 10 hours for homing in the same car. June 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location Booked 5 rooms for a sofball tourney. Had 3, 2 room suites and 2 standard rooms. All rooms were clean and spacious. Spoke with Mark the manager before booking and gave us a great multi room discount. When we arrived the pool and hot tub were being re painted which wasnt ideal sice we were bringing lots of kids for this stay. Appon check out I spoke with Mark again about the inconvience of the pool not working and he made sure to take care of us. Due to the great service we will be staying here agian next year when we come down for the tourney again. May 29, 2014

The beds are comfortable. I like the choice of firm or soft pillows. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and nice. Even told us a faster way to get to airport. May 28, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Tub Wouldn't Drain The first room given to us had a tub that wouldn't drain. We were told we could switch to another room so I grabbed the keys from the front desk and tried to enter the new room. The door wouldn't open. I went back to the front desk with the keys and was rudely told to "lift up" on the door handle. Apparently I should have known the door opens in an unconventional way. The tub in the new room drained only slightly better than the last room. I asked for a discount on the room and none was given. Overall, the tubs don't drain and the front desk staff seem annoyed with guests. May 27, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Problem with TV and computers in lobby The television in the room would randomly shut off and loose signal. I called the front desk and she said there wasn't anything she could do. I needed to use the computer for business the next day. Neither of the computers worked. I went in to have breakfast and the lady working in there was showing some other guests a video of a dancing dog at very high volume for about five minutes. (Not a very nice way to wake up.) I was also very disappointed in the rate. The rooms are very nice and most of the staff is nice. I will be looking for a different place to stay next time. May 22, 2014

Room was not as clean as the other Holiday Inn Express that we had stayed in. The first breakfast, there was no biscuits or gravy brought out the whole time we were in the dining room. The second morning, there was no eggs. The pancakes were too tough to eat. May 21, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Room way too hot 1: Had to wait an extra 30 minutes to check in because the front desk person was on the phone with IT. It took her 30 seconds to hand me my already prepared check in packet after she hung up. I didn't need to wait for her to finish there - they should have been placed on hold the moment that the call was going to take more than 5 minutes. With kids and my wife in the car all tired from a long day of driving, this was just not the way to start our stay. 2. The room wouldn't cool down sufficiently. Called the desk. They said "All our rooms are like that, we wish they weren't." What the heck? I'm all for energy efficiency, but seriously, if the AC units don't work - change them. I did not get a good nights sleep at this hotel. My room was too hot every single night - note, the outside temperature was not that hot. I am at a loss for why you would install these AC units in a hotel at all. I do not like sweating in my bed. 3. Television had a "parental lock" on all material not OK for people over 14. Called front desk, not helped (to be clear, she offered to come up, but we were in bed). It was just irritating. I realize this was probably set up by some idiot before me, but if you have this option on your TV, have an auto-reset at checkout. 4. The TV, on CNBC, "Froze" every 2 minutes. It was brief and came right back, but it was irritating. 5. They closed the breakfast room 5 minutes early on day 3 of my stay. I got my breakfast, but c'mon... 6. Had to walk to the desk to check out (no check out envelope left under my door) I have never had a single complaint about any Holiday Inn Express before. This hotel was almost surreal. It was like everything was "almost there," but nothing seemed to be right. I want to stress that the staff (except being made to wait at check-in) was nice. I probably could have been more of a loud advocate for my needs while I was there, but honestly I just don't think I should have to at a Holiday Inn Express. While I would stay at a Holiday Inn Express brand hotel again, I would never stay at this specific one. March 29, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My 'go to' away from home home! This was my 7th stay at this particular Holiday Inn Express. (I have stayed at other HIE in other areas in the Portland Oregon area) Why do I keep going back?? Because there is consistency in clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, comfort, free computer link which is very easy to access, indoor pool, plenty of space to spread out, and a wonderful variety of breakfast items at the free breakfast, including several hot dishes and some of the best cinnamon rolls to be found anywhere. The only "con" I list may be the location. This establishment is located just before the Interstate bridge between Oregon and Washington. Because of that, the afternoon traffic heading North can be somewhat slow, and the same for traffic in the early AM going South. There are several good restaurants locally, both fast food and sit-down. I've stayed at local 4 star hotels that have no where near the same amenities... February 15, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleasant stay -- thank you! Our stay was very pleasant and the hostess on the front desk couldn't have been more helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. The breakfast provided many choices, both hot and cold. They even had a pancake-making device! The hostess recommended a short and interesting walk along the river where the houseboats are moored. The motel is close to a variety of restaurants and major stores. (The only negative is access to Hayden Island and the motel. Crossing the 1-5 bridge going north from Portland between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday night was bumper to bumper and very slow. No problem going south.) January 28, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by terrible location, breakfast not stocked well, slow on cleaning rooms The location is off I-5 and the traffic is terrible. You will be late if you do not plan an extra 30-45 minutes to your travel. One day our room didn't get cleaned until 5pm and that is because I had to call the front desk. The breakfast bar never had hot water for tea and several days it was not stocked well because the hotel was out of certain items. Both of our phones did not work when we arrived and only one was repaired. We have stayed at many HI Express hotels, this ranks as one of the lowest. January 4, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Don't expect this hotel to consider special requests I am staying in this area for a number of weeks on business and have asked to have a specific room the last three weeks. Both through the electronic reservation and in person. They keep assuring me that they will take care of it on my next stay but three weeks later I still haven't been given the room. Lots of apologies but no explanation and no change. By the way... when equipment breaks here it does not get fixed. the water fountain has been out of order for over a month and the pancake maker for several weeks. Very little attention to detail here. Their biscuits at breakfast are hard as a rock on a regular basis. I have mentioned it several times but no change,,,,Lots of indifference! Lots of other hotels in the area, time for a change I guess. November 12, 2013

Its nice and quiet, has a wonderful pool, great customer service and has a homey feel. Unfortunately they had a water damage incident this year and the hotel wasn't in amazing shape but the service was great non the less. Will be staying here next year! September 11, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel problems We were at this hotel for 8 days total. The day we arrived a water pipe had busted and flooded some of the rooms and hallways. The exercise room and washer-dryer room were shut down. I was able to use both later, but with no air conditioner it was too hot. One night about 10pm the power went out of half of the hotel. We had to get ready for bed in the dark and it was out for 4 hours. No AC either. And it did not appear to be a concern to the front desk September 7, 2013
