I came the last minute on business and pleasure. It is in the NW section of Oregon and walking distance to great restaurants. It is not a luxury hotel but clean and I could get a good night's sleep. What made this hotel was the great staff. All staff were friendly and amazing. Very personable and a pleasure. I recommend this place highly.

We walked into the NW Portland Downtown HI Express to a wonderful welcome greeting from Shobhna. It had been a long day. She made us smile and made us feel like we were the most important couple to walk into this Hotel. I had numerous questions about my Rewards Club account and she was able to answer all of them. She even upgraded our room even though we weren't sure what that met. Our room was quiet, cozy and had a great mattress.

great value and friendly service.
The location is a bit noisy and seeminly shady, but actually just fine.
Walking distance to nice venues.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ryan the runner Great location, awesome pool
Location is close to a freeway and easy to get to the main Portland attractions. Everything about this Holiday Inn Express lived up to their name. I prefer booking with Holiday Inn with my family as they have the best amenities for the best value. The pool was the perfect temperature. The wifi was great. The only bad part is there is only one elevator and it can be a little slow to get up and down (use the stairs instead).

This is a great Hotel . Location is perfect, clean rooms and great service. The only issue I have is the way this company charges different rates throughout the week. I was at the Hotel and had three different room rates and three different taxes rates. Those differences added up to 12 different entries I had to make on my expense report. For a business person on the road each week, this is really hard to swallow. Suggest you charge one rate for the entire stay, even if it is a little higher to prevent the extra time it takes to do expense reports.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Cheermom68 Quiet and clean but poor breakfast and overpriced
It was hard to find a room near the convention center the weekend I stayed, so we booked here. It was about the same as what others paid to stay in very nice hotels, but was not nearly as nice. We were on the top floor at the end of the hall, so it was very quiet. The beds were just ok. There is only one elevator and it's slow, but that wasn't much of a problem as the hotel didn't seem busy. Free parking was a huge plus and driving to and from the hotel was easy. The worst thing was the breakfast. I'd recommend the cereal or pancakes, but the eggs and "mystery omelette" we're not on the top of my list. Overall not bad if you can get a reasonable price.
