Once you know this property is not downtown consider staying here for good value. While the web site clearly states that it is in the NW-Nob Hill area. The name can make you think it is downtown. It's not far if you have a car and want to take it. A bus stops very close by and the street car is an 8 block walk. You can get downtown in 20-30 minutes. Plusses include neat neighborhood with some very good restaurants in walking distance and even more great restaurants in the Pearl district which is not far; free parking; good discount rates; friendly service. The room is fine tho on the small side ;the elevator was very slow; and the internet intermittent; the breakfast was OK.

If you're in the middle of the west-facing rooms and happen to be in the room for a nap in the afternoon, you'll likely enjoy the free vibro-massage gifted by the operation of the laundry equipment. We called down to find out why the room was vibrating, to be told that it's the laundry! We were on the third floor. Goodness knows how it felt on the 2nd floor...
Other than that, we were disappointed by the lack of any kind of shuttle service - I'd stayed in the same chain in Spokane and had been picked up from the airport, kindly run to local Rite-Aid for forgotten supplies, and given rides to and from the office. Nothing at all at this much more expensive hotel and an hour to get from PDX to the hotel via Trimet.
Breakfast was disappointing during the week. The keep-hot made eggs hard and dried.
Other than these few downers, the location is very good to walk into Portland (2 miles), to the Rose Gardens, to the Left Bank (which is on the right of the river! - maybe it's left of the Columbia?) It is very quiet on the west side. The beds are excellent. Normally have issues sleeping on foreign beds, but these are so comfortable.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel - just be prepared for taxis, Uber, or Trimet.
