Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not good value for money but decent place I stayed here as I could walk to my business meeting but the cost was way too high to consider staying more than one night as the quality level in this class of hotel does not justify such high prices. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and service but room a little diappointing Having stayed at this hotel a number of times and loved it I was disappointed to find myself in a room at the back of the hotel where there had clearly been an incident with a previous occupant. There was a substantial dent in the wall (which had been painted over ) and a hole in the bathroom door. Whilst not major issues they did take the shine off what was otherwise another pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms at the front of the hotel are lighter and feel larger due to the full length window, but that was my own fault for not requesting one. The service was excellent as usual and we love the location which allows you to do a days shopping, pop back to the hotel, rest and then go out for a meal at one of the many restaurants at Gunwharf. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by All about Location I would not typically recommend this hotel from the perspective of overall comfort and definitely not for the quality of the hot breakfast, but it's all about the location. It is located right on the Gunwharf Quays with access to the pier, shops and restaurants. The location is the only reason I would recommend this hotel. The hotel staff seem to have improved over the last 6-7 stays in the hotel, but the A/C never works in the room. It is either too hot or too cold and the thermostat never works. The elevator works this time, which is good. The first couple of times I stayed there you had to walk up two long flights of stairs with your luggage because the elevators were both out of order. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by OK, but why ... ... did you put us into a room overlooking the entrance car park and why did my husband and I walk into our room to find that the welcome message on the tv screen was addressed to my husband. The booking was made in my name, not my husband and as this is my third or fourth stay and I'm a member of the IHG awards programme, surely you would put these guests into a room with a better position ...? Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn Expreee Gunwharf Quays If you are looking for somewhere convenient to stay over whilst visiting the Quays and the surrounding areas then this is the perfetc hotel. Not somewhere for the long term but overnight or a few days it does exacxtly what it says on the tin. Breakfast is reasonable although the supply of hot food could be topped up quicker and the addition of bacon would be very welcome The rooms are clean but toiletries are basically a joint soap/shampoo dispenser which is poor. The bar is not the most welcoming of areas to spend time but there are plenty of options outside the hotel. Staff are helpful but sometimes split between serving at the bar or reception so on occasions you may have to wait. Overall, it is pleasant enough and the location is perfect November 10, 2015
