Where to start......I spend over 200 nights annually in hotels so I've seen a few. Traffic on the exit to this hotel from town is ridiculous. 2 mile backup on the interstate to the off ramp. I figured it was holiday traffic etc. but it was the same on a Tuesday evening. Front desk was, well there. No greetings really, no thanks for being a Priority Club Platinum, not even the courtesy free bottle of water. Went back down for some plastic cutlery for my dinner and seemed to be causing a bit of bother because they had packed it all away after breakfast. I remember initialing on the check in paperwork for the "no pets" line. Got to my room and there was pet hair all over both of the coverlets on the beds, THANKS! Woke up and the room reeked of bacon grease. Seems the middle open lobby area on the second floor is a magnet for the breakfast fumes. I WAS scheduled to stay 11 nights there but after the 2nd night I was done. Much happier in another express on the SE side of town.

The rooms were pleasant. The décor was nice. The staff was completely unprofessional. I worked my way through college as a hotel manager of a large downtown property in a major city. I know how to train and manage a staff. The employees I came in contact with at this location need to find other work. I politely explained to one of the worst employees that if she worked for me I would terminate her.
I have family in the area and this property is close to their home, but I will never stay in this property again.

I travel to Asheville on a regular basis and have found this is the best place to stop before I venture on into the mountains. The staff is always friendly, the rooms quiet and clean, the breakfast is always well stocked and tables are kept clean. Great place to spend the night!

The staff and the manager made this one of the worst stays. This is the third time myself or one of my employees has had a bad experience with this hotel and the staff.

First I will say this was s game day weekend so the place was crowded. We had stayed here before and found it convenient to downtown, clean and a good choice over the high prices downtown. We checked in early afternoon and place was empty at the time. We were given a room on first floor facing noisy parking lot. When we asked to be given a room in a different location we were told hotel was full even though it was apparent many guests had not checked in yet. We booked very early through ing as priority members so were surprised staff did not even make effort to change room. (I guess rooms were assigned prior to guests arriving and staff appeared to not be willing to take time to try to assist). Other than this, room was clean. Breakfast adequate. Only other issue was no hot water the first morning. Were told by front desk it was because hotel was full. We have never experienced this at any other hotel even on full weekends. All this being said, based on previous experience and convenience, will probably give this hotel a try again.

The bath tub water faucet was reversed. The Cold water was actually the HOT and the HOT water was the Cold. Went ot take a nice soothing HOT bath, and stepped in the water to find it was freezing COLD! because the fixutre was input incorrectly.
