Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best of both worlds! Close to uptown Raleigh without the hectic surroundings. I travel occasionally to uptown Raleigh for work. I hate the traffic uptown. This Holiday Inn is very close to uptown yet it feels like the country. Easy drive to uptown. I have recommended it to my co-workers. The beds and the room décor were comfortable and handy. There are shelves in the bathroom for personal items. I was sharing this hotel room and having individual shelves made getting ready in the morning easy and quick. Love the pool and breakfast! The hotel building and staff were first class! I will always go to this hotel. The front desk, housekeeping and breakfast staff smiled and treated me like I was a valuable customer! I travel in my job so I am in a lot of Holiday Inns. Hooray for this Holiday Inn! July 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great room and service. Had an enjoyable stay in a clean room that was close to my destination. July 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent location-will be back! We were so pleasantly surprised at every turn throughout our stay at this HIE in Raleigh! Everything we needed was right there, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was more than my teen-aged boys could consume and the location was perfect for highway access and getting to the things we needed while in town. We will surely be back! Thank you Raleigh SW NC State HIE! July 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great choice good service We wanted a place with a pool so our kids could swim at night! They were the only one we could find. The desk clerk was helpful, kind, and quick! The rate was good and of course breakfast was impeccable!! Would stay at this one again! July 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Choice Close To NCSU Campus Newer hotel in a quiet location makes this a good choice close to the NCSU campus and downtown Raleigh. Rooms were extremely clean and hotel staff friendly and helpful. Only negative was the quality of exercise equipment in the fitness room. Looked like they had brought machines from an older hotel and placed in the room. July 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My Stay. Staff were friendly and most helpful, it's a handy location to get around Raleigh. Recommended. June 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely comfortable bed and great service My wife and I stayed in a King suite with a extremely comfortable bed , great TV with numerous channels, never heard a sound from any of the other rooms, no problem with the elevators (no wait time). The breakfast could have been a little better. We went down for breakfast with a half hour serve time left and very little eggs were left, a lot of bacon and great cinnamon rolls, good coffee. Would stay again for sure. June 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LOVE the STAFF and HOTEL This Hotel has a wonderful staff who strive to meet the needs of me and my family every time. I appreciate the front desk staff so much! I have also used their conference and meeting rooms for business and found the accommodations and ease of scheduling to exceed other Hotel chains. I highly recommend this location. June 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by my kids love the beds and the pool I love this hotel. Great location to NC State and lots of things to do. The room is very quiet, not like alot of hotels where you can hear the people around you and above you. I loved the breakfast and the hot tub. The personnel at the desk are very pleasant and get you checked in quickly. I am very satisfied and will always stay at this location when I am in the area. June 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experience The overall experience was outstanding! I whighly recommend this Inn! June 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay This HIE has, by far, the best staff of any HIE I have stayed at thus far. Staff went over and above to accommodate the guests. Not only did they do so for me when I had an issue, I also observed them do the same for other guests while I was there. Would LOVE to see waffles back on the bar, but other than that, EXCELLENT! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by For Women That use Flat Irons, curly irons ect.& ergon oil (My family), minor grandchildren and minor daughter and I stay at this hotel. I am a nonsmoker but I received a smoking fee. The manager told me that his employees are trained to detect smoke. I told him that I didn't smoke. The manager than replied that there was some form of smoking done in the room. I told him I used my flat iron which does create smoke. He than said there was heavy ashes on the floor. This manager was insisting and making up things to validate and $200.00 smoking fee to a nonsmoker that used a flat iron to style their hair. So If you stay their plan to either not style your hair or visit a beauty salon at your expense which will be less than $200.00 I hope. June 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Southern hospitality, fabulous value, great place to stay! These people must have gone to charm school. They know your name, speak to you when you come and go, and are genuinely pleasant to work with. This is a relatively new Inn, it is clean, easy to access, and the breakfast is like few other HIEs. I travel in this area frequently and will stay here even if it might make for a longer commute. Great value! June 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New, Nice and Clean Very nice and clean. Location was off by itself but I liked that, did not have to worry about people messing with my car. But still close enough to go eat somewhere. Breakfast was like all other Holiday Inns but the eggs did not taste good at all. Too much water in the bottom of pan. But I would still stay there again over all great place and location. May 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by always great I stay here regularly and the staff and room are always great. A real pleasure. Staff are always helpful and smiling. May 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Hotel! We've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express NC State multiple times over the past two years. Everything is always perfect. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed on NC State graduation weekend and the hotel went over the top to help the families of the students feel special. May 20, 2013

Staff was very friendly and this hotel made the families and friends of graduates feel extra special with the extra events for graduates! May 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great get away location A terrific location, easy access to shopping in Carey and only a few exits to the Progress Energy Performing Center and the NC State Farmer’s Market. A best value location for a night at the Performing Center. May 15, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best place to stay in Raleigh! This hotel is a great place to stay -- it is safe, clean, and affordable! The staff is the best part about this hotel. They are friendly and welcoming no matter who you are or when you check in or check out. This is the only hotel I use when I travel to Raleigh for work! April 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and clean room Very friendly staff. Room was larger than expected. Very close to NCSU. April 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GREAT VISIT I would have to say that of all the Holiday InN Express hotels that I have stayed at, this hotel by far was excellent. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is in a great location. I would highly recommend anyone staying at this property. April 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great experiences every time~ This is a clean, well-run HIE. I have stayed here at least once a month for the past 7-8 months for workshops at the Friday Center @NCSU and they have taken excellent care of me. April 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Experience for Me! I've stayed at this motel twice and was very pleased with the motel and the service. They do have as good a continental breakfast as you'll ever get and comfortable and spacious rooms. I felt safe and it was very quiet. Heading back that way very soon. April 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice sized room The room was a nice size, no one felt cramped, and we had room for our luggage plus a rather large bag of items needed for a weekend tournament. The beds were so comfortable after a long day of running around, and it was nice and quiet. Very easy to get to any number of places in the Raleigh area, too. April 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Staff Plus Can we keep this location a secret? Excellent staff plus excellent Tuesday dinner options as compliment from HIE. I have added this location to my "Favorites List". April 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, Comfortable, Friendly, and an Excellent Value We stayed here in Southwest Raleigh from the Saturday before Easter until the Tuesday after visiting with family and friends in the NC State University area. Some of our favorite things were visiting NC State campus, Museum of Natural Sciences, Tasty Beverage Company, Walnut Creek Wetlands Center, eating at Players Retreat, Side Street Cafe, and Gravy, and paddle boating at Lake Johnson. All of these attractions were within a couple of miles of our hotel. Each morning we took advantage of the free hot breakfast in our hotel, which had a lot of yummy choices from eggs and bacon, to a pancake maker, to hot cinnamon rolls, to all kinds of breads and muffins. While we were out and about during the day, we came back each night to find our hotel was quiet and relaxing. We took advantage of the pool which was nice and uncrowded. I was pleased to find that the pool was open til 11pm which was a delight since we wouldn't get in each night til about 10pm. Our bed in our hotel room was very comfy and our room was clean. I loved too that our room was restocked each day with makeup remover towelettes, vanity packs etc. The staff were very friendly and courteous always greeting us with a genuine hello or goodbye. I would recommend this hotel for family and friends in a heartbeat. I was sad to leave Raleigh and our hotel. April 7, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First time. Stayed two nights recently due to an event at N.C. State. Found the room to be very clean and spacious. Entire property was well- kept. Breakfast was a real treat. Best complimentary breakfast we have ever had with large eating area. A very relaxing atmosphere. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when we visit Raleigh. March 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel for NC State Visit Close to the visitor's center and the school, this hotel offers a fitness center, nice hot breakfast with plenty of tables, indoor pool and spa and helpful staff with maps of the area. Our double queen room with pull-out couch for our son had a frig and a microwave, handy for leftovers. March 30, 2013
