The hotel is close to the Manston Airport, but not too close to suffer from aircraft noise. Close to Manston Airport are two museums; one covers the airfields history and the other "The battle of Britain. Approximately 6 miles away is a retail and leisure park. The leisure park has several restaurants of the "Nando's ilk".
Approximately 9 miles from the hotel is Margate. Places of note : The Turner Contemperary gallery, but check what is on display before making a visit as some art is a bit too contemporary ! Another place worth a visit is the shell grotto, this was discovered in 1835.
As for the hotel. The rooms are comfortable, well maintained and ventilated. We both slept well. We have stayed at the hotel twice before.
What surprised us during this visit was that the hotel allows smokers on the 2nd floor. Half of the rooms on that floor are dedicated to smokers. we both don't smoke, we were allocated a room on the 2nd floor that was no smoking, but unless you have airlock entry to each room the smoke gets everywhere and it did. We asked for a floor change. The first floor was ok.

Our family had booked to go to France for a week and we were going by ferry from Dover, we booked the Holiday Inn in Ramsgate for our overnight stay before France.
We drove down overnight from Edinburgh and arrived at around 6am so I chanced my luck and asked if we would be able to get into our room early as we were all very tired however we were told this could not happen as checking in was not until 2pm which is the rules and fair enough but it was worth a try :-)
When we booked in at 2pm we freshened up and went for a wander around Ramsgate and spent a few hours in a wonderful town on a wonderfully hot and sunny day and finished the day off with some great fish and chips at Peter's Fish Factory which was recommended by a member of the Holiday Inn staff and it was brilliant.
The hotel itself was really nice the staff were great and even though we were leaving at 3.30am the following day they made sure we had our breakfast before we left.
i'd highly recommend this great wee hotel to anyone.

Room was very pleaSent and clean well maintained.
Bed was comfortable but would have been nice to have a mattress cover of some type to make the bed more comfortable. The sheet was straight on top of the mattress and you could feel the buttons through this,
Breakfast was a free for all. No real organisation to the Dinning area. Also very little choice of food and ran out of cups and plates. Needs much beter organisation.

Having stayed in this particular Holiday Inn at least once a year since it opened, we will not return.
The breakfast was a shambles. The staff could not cope with the number of people. The Sunday morning we waited half an hour for there to be any cups to have coffee , there were no glasses for juice. We were at breakfast for nearly an hour and only managed to get coffee and toast. not even an apology

The hotel was quiet with friendly staff and a nice comfortable room. The only issue was the Air conditioning was not working. However it was good value for money.

Place was clean, comfortable and warm. I loved it. However no free wifi and we had to wait for the breakfast, other than that would go back again. My 11 year old son wanted a night in a hotel for his birthday present! It cost the three of us £40 approx and breakfast was included!! And he/we loved it.

Always use this hotel when visiting this part of Kent. Comfortable, clean and always good value for money. Staff always very pleasant and helpful.
