Despite location just off a busy dual carriageway no external noise penetrated. A satisfying night's sleep, well-priced, right next to Manston Airport and reasonably convenient for the Channel Ports.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SB59 Very comfortable bed.
On arrival thought the outside of the hotel looked drab and could do with a brighter coat of paint, but was pleasantly surprised at the interior. It was bight ,clean, open and very welcoming, We were greeted by a very pleasant member of staff who served us both quickly and efficiently. The room was a delight, spacious, comfortable, clean and welcoming. Even though the hotel was quite close to a busy road and airport it was very quiet room, surprisingly. The bed was one of the most comfortable that we had ever slept in . The breakfast was ok but as with any hot plate service the food wasn t as hot as we would have liked. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly use the company again

We were very impressed with this Holiday Inn. Will look forward to a return visit. We both enjoyed the breakfast and even though it was very busy there was plenty of everything.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Honey57 Convenient and comfortable
This is an unusual looking hotel with good parking and convenient to lots of places. The reception/bar/breakfast area is really lovely and comfortable but unfortunately there is no longer a dinner service. However, a local restaurant, which I thoroughly recommend, has come up with the brilliant plan of offering guests a free taxi service to the restaurant (you pay for your return cab, which is discounted), giving you an additional choice from the McDonalds and Table Table across the road.

My husband and I stayed for one night with our 3yr old just so we could visit the beaches for a few days and the holiday express inn was right within easy reach of them. The hotel is not much to look at from the outside and needs a lick of paint and a bit of attention. There is a premier inn opposite which looked inviting from the outside But the inside of the hotel is lovely! Very stylish and clean the reception, lobby, bar and the walk to our room were all very clean, our room was also clean and fresh everything worked well, tea and coffee making facilities were nice too! It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The breakfast was also a nice touch to our stay, sausages, beans, scrambled eggs, toast, pastries, yogurts, cereals and juice with a machine for coffees etc more choice than we expected for a continental and we all enjoyed it too!! There was more than enough food available and staff were around to help out if needed! We would stay at this hotel gain and would recommend it to our friends and family!!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ScotsJimmy Avoid Room 218 if you want no-smoking room
Stayed in Room 218 which smells like it was previously a Smoking room, although now designated as No Smoking. To qualify as latter it neeedsd to be repainted and new furnishings thta don't smell of smoke.
Also our room was not cleaned after our first night there.
An oversight but still a shock after a day out.
However still recommend this hotel. Reasonable value.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Jasper77 Rooms were O.K. but breakfast needs to be improved
As we only needed somewhere to sleep for our stay in the area. There was no resturant on site for an evening meal but fortunately there was a place opposite that did good evenig meals & also their drinks prices were approx half the price also for £8 you got a very good breakfast. Will never stay there again as didn,t think it was value for money.. I have stayed at Holiday Inns before but will look elsewhere in future

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JAS12 Value for money
Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Made even better by having a smoking room, why don't other hotels offer this I wonder! I don't usually bother with breakfast but my husband looks forward to a good breakfast and this is the only negative about our stay. Hubby says the choice was limited- sausage, beans and scrambled egg but no bacon and no fried/poached egg (plenty of cereal and toast though!).
Overall, our stay was very good and we would definitely stay again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Northernseasider67 Good night sleep
Stayed at the Minster IH express for two nights in Aug 13, as a base for visiting family. The reception, bar and room was clean and tidy.
Had a room at the back of the hotel, so there was no noise from the adjacent road...good air con unit in the room.
The hotel is close to the airport, adjacent to the hotel there's a petrol station with a supermarket, a pub/ restaurant and a McDonalds.
On the down side:
No recognition as IHG Gold status member
Could not log onto WiFi, would of asked for assistance, but te staff were more interested in the hoards of ambulance staff who were stopping in the hotel ( training course )
The usual IH express breakfast, could do with Fried egg or bacon ??

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Royceyboydavid Very clean and staff all very helpful
Very clean quiet room. Good staff. Self service breakfast excellent but pity no healthy porridge. TV number of freeview channels very limited selection so could do better. Hotel well located for touring and co-op and Mac D adjacent. I booked an accesible twin room BUT were allocated a standard double. Only explanation we could get was that people book access. by mistake so unless you put in a further specific request in the special needs box you are put in a standard room. So pretty good job I arrived not wanting wheel chair access and that Mrs P was my wife and not my sis or mum so we managed with the double until a sofa bed could be made up.
Infuture will check I am allocated what I have payed for. One of the reception staff was quite blunt with us on arrival suggesting the error was ours. My booking details proved her wrong. First two nights my car was only one in the 6 disabled bays ... Funny that....

I am a frequent traveller and although I had stayed in a Holiday Inn, not an Express. The location was great for exploring the North East part of Kent. Although by a road it was not in the middle of nowhere with a restaurant and McD's next door as well as a garage with shop and Minster village was walking distance. Although by a road you could not hear traffic once inside. Areas where it scores above other budget hotels was the large and welcoming reception with a bar and casual seating area which felt comfortable to lounge in and members of staff to look after you. This was by the breakfast area which was furnished well with nice leather chairs. There were meals available until 9.30 if you did not wish to go out. Breakfast included in the price was a simple mix of continental with nice sausages, scrambled egg and beans and all was replenished and not hastily cleared away. There was also take away coffee cups. Rooms were similar to Premier Inn size and some fittings similar but the room and bathroom felt more comfortable due to the colours and quality fittings used. I particularly appreciated the full size bath towels and the shower head you could detach and move up and down - I hate fixed shower heads - and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.. Had air con and the windows opened. The staff were very friendly and efficient and I liked the fact they were mostly local so you knew you were in Britain. Generally not sparse like most budget hotels, good value and I would stay there again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Curly21 Clean rooms and good overall experience.
Rooms were clean and we had a comfortable stay. The only thing I would comment on is the breakfast is limited, not a lot of warm options such as bacon or beans.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lanzaga Good hotel
We have stayed here several times and have been pleased with our room and breakfast. The lady at reception was very perceptive and realised that we may not have wanted a smoking room and queried my choice. She was right - I was wrong, having mistakenly booked a smoking room. A non smoking room was offered and accepted with pleasure.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Grandadgrumps Service good. Mattress poor
Bookoing in advance made this the cheapest deal in the area. I was disappointed with the breakfast choice though. Hot choice being sausage, scrambled egg and beans.
The mattress in our room was very bouncy, with a tendency to roll us to the middle.
The rooms were modern and clean, staff friendly.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Miranda21 Spotless and comfy room!
I was a little unsure about the Hotel upon arrival, as the outside of the building looked in need of freshening up and certainly didn't resemble the picture on the Holiday Inn website. However, once inside, the Reception area appeared modern, bright and clean and the Hotel staff welcoming. My room was great. I was travelling alone but found the Family Room extremely spacious with double bed and a sofa. Both the bedroom/living room and bathroom were spotless.
However, during my 5 night stay at the Hotel, I soon discovered why there was a large water stain on the carpet, having been woken by the sound of water dripping rapidly through a vent in the ceiling and splattering on the floor! This happened for 3 out of the 5 nights I stayed. I was provided with extra towels to mop up the water and it was supposedly fixed by an engineer at one point . . . As the Hotel was busy, I wasn't offered an alternative room until the last night of my stay!
Also, be warned, that despite putting the sign on the door that you do not wish to be disturbed, hotel staff appear to ignore this and attempt to get in anyway. Happened only once, then I put the chain on the door to prevent anyone getting in again.
Overall, I have to stay that the Hotel was lovely; rooms clean and buffet breakfast great. It was in a great location for me too and despite being next to a busy dual carriageway and Kent airport, it was very quiet and relaxing.

Nice place, very standard, very busy on Sunday morning at breakfast, we were forced to sit in the foyer to eat and the hot food ran out far too quickly and often for our liking. Other than this it was a pleasant stay and we would come again.

Booked into hotel as part of my sons wedding arrangements at Quex Park very handy for wedding venue smooth booking in very good service from staff and very easy to book out .Room very comfortable lack of tea bags (only 2) tv easy to operate room well appointed. Breakfast all Ok small selection for cooked choice plenty of tea and coffee residents could go to the breakfast bar as many times as they wished.
Overall good venue offering very good value ,staff should tell the residents using the car park they need a token to operate the barrier to leave.

Whilst we enjoyed staying here as it was convienent to get to the coast. We were disappointed with the breakfasts the fresh fruit was badly bruised and not fit to eat, in fact the apples were the same ones all week. Also on more than one occasion we had to ask for plates, dishes glasses and cutlery. We have stayed in many Holiday Express Inns and never experienced this problem. Buck your ideas up or we will not return again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Gary76543565434566 Desolate location with meagre facilities
As usual our booking agency excelled themselves with this one. In the middle of nowhere, unless you were flying from the airport next door.
Stupid conversation with reception over whether I could pay for internet access which was not on my reservation. Eventually after much persistence on my part I was able to pay some money and get connected.
Bar meal menu was not very impressive, however the "table table" pub attached to the Premier Inn next door was excellent. It was very busy and I assume that was full with all the people staying at the Holiday Inn after they saw the menu.

I left my coat in my hotel room. I knew exactly where I'd left it and rang up later to see if it could be located. The general attitude from the staff was quite uncaring. I was told it had not been handed in. Given the fact that bed sheets are obviously changed after someone checks out and the fact that I'd left my coat on the bed, this is essentially saying the cleaner has nicked it and we're not going to anything about it. - Bravo Holiday Inn

Our 2nd stay, and will stay again, ideally positioned for visiting East Kent resorts, city and towns, positioned adjacent to a roundabout to main roads Having an ice making machine in foyer a great idea.
A good breakfast available but would be improved if Bacon was on menu, but it is free and plentiful
