This was a fine hotel, other than the fact that the air conditioner in our room was very noisy and the thermostat did not seem to be working properly. It is also kind of an older construction and definitely not sound proof. If you are lucky enough to be on the top floor or not to have people running on the room above you, or not to be in the room right next to the ice machine, it should be fine.
Other than that, we did get the service and quality we expect at a Holiday Inn hotel.

When I called to reserve I asked if it had a pool and hot tub, insanely small pool and no hot tub . People across the hall from us smoked and was like it was in our room , I have asthma as was extremely uncomfortable . Also when I called I was told it was newly remodeled , only thing new was the hall carpet . I've said at many holiday inns and it didn't have the newer healthy breakfast options . Bathroom was dirty , hair on washcloth and tub . Stain on the sheets . Not even close to be worth the price .

Hotel was in need of a major renovation, room had a recliner that looked like it came from a garage sale, was afraid to sit in it. When I checked in on Sunday evening, I was informed that the remaining 3 nights of my stay would increase by $50. While I understand that the price is reflective of what the market will bare, however $50 a night increase is not what I would consider the norm. If this were any other business, I would consider this to be gouging. Add some ammenities, if you want to charge such outrageous fees.
If I return to Rapid City, I will choose other accommodations!
