Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Two very nice stays We had two very good stays on our trip to Atlanta and back home to Michigan. The staff was was very pleasant and friendly. The complimentary hot breakfast was better than most and saved us a few dollars on our trip. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We will be making the Richmond Holiday Inn Express our go-to stopover destination on our trips down south. May 5, 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible experience My wife and I were on the road looking for a place to stay for the night. While we had help from the people on the Priority Club 800# and they were great, the front desk was horrible! I've stayed at Holiday Inn Express plenty of times with great experiences, but this one was horrible. I first called the hotel directly to check on availability and got Jeff on the front desk. After I asked if they had rooms available and was told they did. I thanked him for his help and before I could finish, he hung up and never said a word. I called the 800# to use my points and got a room for the night. Upon arriving with my pregnant wife, I went to the front desk to find Jeff there. I told him I had a reservation and, without listening to me, he left the desk to get a 3 ring binder and said he had rooms and named the price. I repeated to him that I had made a reservation, and he looked at me and said he had already cut over to the next day because it was after midnight and I couldn't have made a reservation. I repeated again that I had made one for that night and while he continued to rebut me once again while he looked at the computer, he then stopped and said Priority Club customer service had never been able to do that before. From that moment on, he was extremely unfriendly, even at one point handing me the gifts for Priority Club members and saying their speal, but the look on his face said something totally different. His attitude was unacceptable! From the other comments, he must have had a horrible day or is new and doesn't like working the late shift. I would never stay at this location again. The room was also uncomfortable, the air wouldn't cool down and at 4am the next morning, both smoke detectors were going off with low batteries. The next morning on checkout, the girl at the front desk never asked how our stay was but she was at least friendly to me. Hopefully the manager will have a good discussion with Jeff on his attitude.
