I generaly stay in full service Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands because Iike to have a restaurant and lounge on site, However, I will say that this Holiday Inn Express property exceeded my expections.
They offer a secure gated parking garage, very nicely appointed rooms and have an exceptional staff that was very friendly an helpful. They recomended a fantastic steak and seafood restaurant and even gave a coupon for a free deseart. a very plesant stay all round.

I had booked using my IHG points and expecting a good room. But we were given a room beside ice machine (noising all the night) with an internal door to next room which we literally listening to what they were talking! But overall was OK. Breakfast was better than what I expected from Holiday inn.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The shuttle picked us and dropped us off at the airport. The location is no more than a 10 minute stroll to Station and Skytrain is every 4-6 minutes. It takes 20-25 minutes to Waterfront station.
We took a package that included breakfast and travel cards. In hind sight, good decision. Breakfast offered a decent variety of choices. Staff generally friendly and co-operative. Rooms were nice and clean.
I would recommend this location and will return the next time I am in Vancouver

We arrived for a one-night stay between disembarking from an Alaskan cruise in Anchorage, flying to Vancouver, and returning to Edmonton. This entailed a late arrival (after 8 pm) - our rooms were ready and our reservation through their on-line/call centre was correct. The call centre gave good information on the different rates available to enable me to choose the least expensive rate for our one-night stay (advance booking-no cancellationallowed). The night manager had various restaurant/take-out brochures available as there are no restaurants close and we were tired after the plane conections.
Breakfast the next morning was crowded as there were many staying this hotel who choose it based on the continental breakfast included. We chose not to use the airport shuttle as there were four of us and a cab ride was $13.00 ($20 with tip) to the airport. All in all, a good experience.

...but I prefer to stay in the Holiday Inn on Broadway Vancouver which is just 30 minutes by Skytrain and bus. Everything is better there.

I was told there was plenty if parking on the phone for my vehicle but found it to be a problem upon arrival. Staff seemed unconcerned with my problem. Check out was inpkeasant as a hotel staff annoyed me then told me to relax. I told him to leave me alone. He was not a desk clerk.

Much less expensive to stay here than in Vancouver. Approx half mile to sky train and other transit. Room very clean, most staff very helpful though seemed overwhelmed at busy desk times. Would recommend this as a great alternative to paying the high price of lodging in downtown Vancouver. Airport shuttle staff were great, they deserve raise!

I stay at your hotels throughout the U.S. and Canada. Love the amenities and service. This stay was extremely disappointing. At check-in I was not treated as a priority club member. When we arrived in our room it was nice, except we had no shampoo, no shower cap, the remote didn't work because of the batteries. There are 3 rooms with balconies and the other 2 have a table with their chairs. A side table would have been nice. Their was no luggage rack which made living is a suitcase a task. The front desk said the room did not come with one. The topper was when my wife and I retired for the evening and she said she could smell the cologne of the person before on her pillow. It may have had a new pillow case the smell could have been embedded in the pillow. As a guest you wish to feel comfortable and that made us uneasy. A man showed up with new pillows and no pillow cases. Strange.

The hotel room was comfortable as were the beds and the breakfast was very good with enough varieties of foods. The auto pancake maker was a treat. The location was OK being reasonably close to Vancouver and very close to the airport. The only difficulty was that the wireless internet was slow especially in the evening. A hard wired system might be faster, it is at home.

Was meeting family in transit from an Alaska cruise. Staff were extremely patient and helpful in making our brief visit wonderful: taking care of logistics for early arriving guests, suggesting a great place for our reunion dinner and providing information about the transit system.
In addition the room was very comfy after my long drive! Thanks for a great stay!

The front desk was very helpful and courteous. The room was spacious with 2 queen beds! This was our last night in Vancouver. The beds are a bit hard. I have a sensitive back so I was sore the next morning. Nothing that a little walk or warm shower didn't cure. Since there was no restaurant in the hotel, we found a seafood restaurant about a 10 min. walk from the hotel.
Breakfast was good but too much carb for me. Bacon sausage scrambled eggs and cheese egg turnover (eggs maybe out of a box) with juices, coffee, automatic pancake maker which was cool. Coffee, tea and varaious danish and sweet buns.
Unfortunately there was no pool or waterslide. We found after a long drive from Tofino we really really missed not having a water fun time.
Great comfortable stay!
Across the road is a Costco, so great for those of you heading over to Vancouver Is for some camping. Get your meat and supplies from Costco and save some money on groceries. Just make sure you get a styrofoam cooler from Safeway or Cdn Tire.

We were able to check into the hotel earlier than their scheduled check in time of 4:00 p.m. Steven and Johanna at the front desk were fantastic. Taking the time to answer several time consuming questions and providing directions to the various location we wanted to visit. It was our sons birthday and Steven brought a small plush toy and balloons to our room. WOW!! It was our first stay with this hotel but not our last. The breakfast area was very clean and well stocked. Great job!!! Please pass these comments onto the GM of the Express, he/she have a great hotel and staff!!!

Receptionists were unkind.
Room keys didn't work. I had to ask to fix the problem three times in two days. Receptionist did't say anything about the inconvenience and even unkind.

Loved the room layout. It was a nice departure from the standard. This room had a bed with a large TV on a chest of drawers in the corner, but also had a couch with a second TV wall mounted near it. Don't know if this is their standard room or I got upgraded, but it was cool.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: I stay at a lot of Holiday Inn Express locations all over the country. (USA) While the items at the breakfast were the consistent with other locations I have stayed, the quality was a step lower than i have experienced other places. The eggs were cold and dry, (as those weird eggs-in-a- can tend to be,) and the two days I stayed the breakfast items were exactly the same. Sausage and scrambled eggs. No bacon, and no omelets. Typically these are alternated from day to day. They did have the cinnamon rolls, and they were as good as ever.
I loved the flat screen TVs in the room, but they still were serving up standard definition programming,. This is a pet peeve of mine; a flat screen TV actually makes standard definition programing look worse, not better. HD brings out any imperfections in the picture and exaggerates them, additionally, aspect ratios are not right, stretching the picture to make things look out of proportion. If you are gong to advertise a "flat screen, High Definition" TV, then please have at lease some of the channels in High Definition.
Now don't misunderstand, I liked this hotel and I will likely stay there next time I am in town. Just a couple areas of attention and it will be at the top of the list.

We stayed 1 night on our way home. The staff was exceptional. We had fresh fish that needed to to be in a freezer over night and they did not have one but their sister hotel did. They had someone pick it up, put in their freezer over night, and deliver it to us by 5am the next morning for our flight out and they were very happy to do this for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We didn't have time for breakfast but looked good. Would stay here again if the opportunity arrises.

Clean, quiet and affordable. I needed a place to park my car while on a cruise and they have extended parking right next to the property. You need to ask for the cruise special. Breakfast was very good with lots of variety. It cost about 30 to 40 dollars for a taxi to the cruise terminal and it was well worth it given it cost 23 dollars per day to part at the cruise terminal. I think this place was a great value.

This is a great hotel to stay at if you are planning on taking the SkyTrain into the city or fly out of the airport - even in the rain it was only a five minute walk to the SkyTrain station / RiverRock Casino.
Breakfast is the standard IHG fare - some extra fruit choices would have been a nice addition (last time in Saskatoon they had kiwi & oranges available - that would be the perfect addition to this location!)
