Disgusting filthy used soap etc. in bathroom. Tables not cleared or cleaned at breakfast. Cinnamon rolls (when finally put out) frozen in middle. I wish there was something lower then a 1 on this survey.

We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed longer as far as comfort goes. The beds were extremely comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud! The room was clean and the staff was very nice. I left something behind when we checked out. Didn't realize it until the next day and called to ask to have it sent to me. It was sent ASAP. Breakfast was very good and the area was very clean. We will stay again next time we pass through that area if at all possible

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. a very big room - lots of space. It was very cold that week. The heating system ran excellent and I stayed very warm. There were no cold air leaks around windows or the wall unit. Usually you will notice air leaks, especially in the winter in some hotels, but here I felt none. They have a wonderful breakfast. The hotel was very quite. I stayed an entire week and enjoyed it and looked forward to returning to the room after working all day. Like home away from home.

This was our first time traveling this part of the country. It was getting late so we were happy to see the Holiday Inn Express sign along the interstate. We look for hotels that have indoor heated pools and this hotel did not disappoint us.
We got the last room on the first floor. There was plenty of lighting and the room was spacious. But, we were diappointed in that there was no bathtub only a shower with a folding glass door, which seemed rather dated.
The hotel was convenient to fast food restaurants and other businesses that were easy to find even when dark.

Nothing fancy, but clean, friendly and efficient. Better breakfast than some you pay for.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Workalittleharder Smell of smoke
I admittedly had a bad day when I arrived (my luggage went to Charleston SC and I drove 60 miles of winding hills on 119). Although I smelled smoke in the bathroom of my non smoking room when I first walked in, I decided to deal with it since my room was directly across the hall from the exercise room that I planned to use in the morning. Once I went to bed I smelled smoke again but it was too late too move for me. The smell of smoke woke me up several times through the night. The room looked clean, but I am willing to bet that the maid smokes too and there was no supervisor inspection before my arrival.

If you like driving through the mountains, get to Ripley after dark and eat at one of the many food choices. Whether you're headed east or west from Ripley, you want to drive it during the day. It's the gotta see mountains!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MACKINAW DISAPPOINTING ROOM
WE HAVE STAYED AT THIS PROPERTY FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS, TWICE A YEAR. THIS VISIT WAS DISAPPOINTING AS I HAD HOPED FOR A ROOM WITH KITCHENETTE AS IN OUR PREVIOUS STAYS. STAFF VERY PLEASANT, BREAKFAST VERY GOOD - A STORM PASSED THROUGH THE NIGHT WHICH TURNED OFF THE POWER IN THE MORNING - NO LIGHTS AND THE SHOWER WAS ONLY LUKE WARM....NO FAULT OF THE HOTEL BUT MADE PREPARING IN THE MORNING A LITTLE DIFFICULT.
