Hotel room was comfortable and very clean. Internet worked great. Hotel is located next to restaurants. Hotel is in the process of moving to a smoke-free hotel.

I am very particular about my hotel stays. This facility is clean, food was good, staff were wonderful. There are plenty of restaurants close by, as well as a drug store, grocery store and WalMart. Good job!!

breakfast not as good as usual. no fresh fruit, eggs a bit dried out, ham over cooked, pancake machine broken.
Service was very good, people very helpful and friendly, no recognition for priority club membership

Bev & I usually stay at HIE because they are consistently good. Sadly, our stay in Rocky Mount was not our usual experience. The staff were OK - we asked about a coffee shop in the morning and we were told there was none. The coffee shop owner downtown stated that HIE was well aware of him - they wanted to charge him a thousand dollars just to place his cards in the lobby. Also, we are Priority Club members and they did not acknowledge us as such. Also, the room was too warm and we could not adjust the temperature to make it cooler. I am hopeful that HIE fixed this issue after we notified them as we were checking out. The breakfast bar was actually lame - few choices which is why we wanted a coffee shop. We have stayed in at least a dozen different HIEs and this was our first negative experience.

We have stayed frequently at this superior home away from home. It serves as a guest bedroom (and breakfast and pool) when visiting our son's family in the area. The staff goes the third mile. The rooms have always been neat. The place is quiet. The location is ideal for those visiting or touring the area including Smith Mountain Lake and even Roanoke just down the road. The breakfast staff are friendly and helpful and the entire staff is always accommodating. We will return again and again.
