Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Convenience and comfort wrapped into one! We chose this location because of the location to both the Quik Park parking lot and DTW. It was fabulous. And upon returning to Detroit, The Quik Park shuttle driver, Mark, arrived right as we got to the ground transportation area and got us back to our car very efficiently. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A mixed bag While the location is terrific for DTW travelers and the staff was wonderful I had a few issues. Surprisingly the eggs and cinnamon muffins were cold. The light fixtures in the breakfast nook block the view of the 2 TVs. The rooms have inadequate soundproofing - when planes fly overhead the noise is unacceptable- I've stayed at other IHG properties where this wasn't an issue. One nice thing is there are two excellent restaurants next door - the Merriman grill and Beirut Restsurant. The staff was also very friendly and helpful, they just need to pay attention to the breakfast protocols. A superb value and I will be back, but I'll realize the possible limitations. May 12, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Airport Late Arrival Overnight Stay There are many options in the area, but I chose this one, because they had a King room with a pull out sofa for our daughter. The night check in person was a bit grumpy when we showed at 1:30 AM after our late airline arrival from the West Coast. He was a little more grumpy when we asked for sheets for the sofa as the bed was not made and nor were there sheets in the room. The air conditioning was very touchy and shut down once the room temp hit the desired temp, which maxed at a low of 68. It honestly felt like 75 at that point. In order to have continuous air, I turned the fan on instead and I had a very uncomfortable night sleeping and did not use covers as a result. I used the exact same air conditioning at another hotel later in the trip and no problems using it and keeping the room cold so this was not a user error issue. The breakfast had a lot of hot food options so that was a bonus. It is close to the airport with a shuttle, which is also a bonus. May 11, 2015
