Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by VERY HANDY EASY TO FIND The rooms were VERY clean, the bed is ALWAYS comfortable, the staff was very HELPFUL, gave us heads up on a great place to eat and the BREAKFAST was hot & good...... March 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall experience Since 2004 I have stayed at this location of Holiday Inn Express except for a few occassions. My past 2 visits the quality of the Hotel and rooms have declined. My first stay my refrigerator was broken and ruined the food I put in it. The second stay the iron was broken and I had to have house keeping come up twice to get me a working iron. I won't be staying at this location again. I like Holiday Inns, so, my future visits to Sacramento will be at the regular Holiday Inn on the other side of town. February 27, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not so relaxing/comfortable stayed with my two daughters and was not happy. After 2 long days at the convention center with their cheer competition, we came home to a leaky bathroom sink drain all over floor, too warm of room that wouldn't cool down, tv that didn't work, and kids not happy with simple breakfast requests (hot water not available to make tea, etc). STAFF was EXCELLENT, but that was the only positive next to free parking, that I have to celebrate. February 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fourth Stay I was disappointed in the quality of the internet connection. It made it a pain to work in my room. There was also a problem with the television. It should be said, however, that it was a minor inconvenience compared to the rest of my stay. The best part of this hotel is the staff. They are warm and professional in every sense of the word and have made me come to this property time and time again. January 31, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent customer service excellent customer service even though it was a last minute reservation. January 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Electrical problems, no hot water I was somewhat disappointed with this visit. The light switch on the night stand was broken. And there was no hot water for a shower. Not what I am expect from holiday inn. January 22, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Best location, price, staff for business travel This is normally where I stay if working anywhere around the city. I would only check another hotel if it was right next to my work site. I have come here for years and this visit really liked the room renovation. Except: really weird closet. They put the clothes behind a solid wall and not easy to see or reach. Those they need to remove and extend the length of the closet. Power, lighting, A/C, bathroom all good. I never like Holiday Inn soap so I bring my own. Staff are great. They are present. The listen, they answer, they are aware. Management has been sure to have one responsible person right there at the entry counter 24 hours. At 3 in the morning you will still get an awake person who is not lost in the back or preoccupied by paperwork. Great staff that you would expect at a more upscale hotel. You can get to either freeway, the capital (.5 mile), walk to eat, etc. It is not right in a fancy neighborhood, but it is on the edge of a safe residential area and only two blocks from PF Changs. I have also walked to other stores when in the mood to walk a couple blocks. Drugstores and etc are not far. 1.2 miles from Sutter's Fort, which are great to visit even if on business. See where the Mexican (Formerly Swiss) John Sutter helped start the California gold rush that rushed past him to some extent. 1.3 miles to old Sacramento. Look for the wine tasting among the restaurants. If you like to walk, it is one half mile to the closest corner of the Capital gardens. Walk over to the capital and around the grounds and back. Perfect distance and great gardens. If you can plan your trip at State Fair time, do so. You are a block from the highway that heads up there and it is not far (3.6 miles). January 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel for the price it can't be beat My girlfriend and I travel from the bay area to Sacramento 6-10 times a year and need a place to stay, we have a bulldog too. We've stayed a lot of places but find this to be the best value! The price is great, the rooms are nice, it's quiet, the staff is friendly and the parking is gated. The car port of the back side is covered so when it was raining our dog was still able to run around and we could watch him without getting soaked, that was a pleasant surprise. We love the Hyatt too but have decided to make this our spot! January 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Obvious improvements I have stayed at this HIX off and on for many years. It is obvious that they have made improvements over the past year. The hotel smelled better. Staff were friendly - attentive - not too talkative. They thanked me for being a platinum member. The room was quiet, except for the air conditioning unit. But, it wasn't a problem. What I meant is that there was no external noise coming into the room - and that made it easy for me to relax. Breakfast was good and reliable. Maid service was invisible, and very good! All in all, my opinion of this HIX was lifted due to this stay - it wasn't bad before, it was better this time. Looking forward to my next stay downtown SAC - this HIX is very close to the meeting spots I frequent there. Thanks! P.S. One service this hotel could offer to Priority Club members would be day parking for downtown meetings. I stay at another HIX on Auburn Blvd. which is nearer to my home office. But I often have downtown meetings. It would be a nice convenience. October 24, 2012

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality to price ratio Very nice location downtown, nice spatious rooms, friendly staff. Poor breakfest menu was the only flaw. October 14, 2012
