Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good night's sleep Rooms appear to have been updated since my stay in 2012, for the same Salado event - annual Highland Games. Rooms are spacious and quiet - there were lots of "kids" on hand, but I don't recall hearing anything that kept me awake. The interstate highway (I35) has encroached upon the property with the widening effort, but you don't hear any "road noise." The property has always been well kept up since it was opened (about 8 years ago?) and it remains so. Breakfast is average for the self-serve kind of meal that it is... The "Great Room" that breakfast is served in is nice with a variety of seating options. November 19, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Watch out for Road Construction The entrance/exit at the hotel was hard to find, especially in the dark due to road construction. Also, a large hole/bump as you enter/exit the hotel parking lot was a surprise. Note, this is not the fault of the hotel or staff, but due to the road construction. The hotel staff was helpful about giving instructions for re-entering the highway, even cautioning about a big "bump" on the entrance ramp. November 19, 2014

Always clean, good wifi, very quiet, great staff and good pricing. I stay here and drive the extra 10-15 miles to Temple because this hotel is well worth it. November 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A welcomed stay The night clerk was so helpful when we walked in w/o reservations. We had not planned to spend the night in Salado but the weather was so cold, rainy and windy, we decided to call it an evening earlier than expected. The night clerk was very attentive to our needs. The only complain I have was the lighting in the room. It was on the dim side because 2 bulbs were burnt out and had not been replaced. Otherwise, breakfast was good, atmosphere good, everything was clean and the room was warm and comfortable. November 17, 2014
