The location is great, and will be even better after construction is complete on I-35. The staff was super helpful. The desk lady gave me great advice on dinners while I was there. She also gave me very good directions.
The room was clean and comfy. I slept well, which is sometimes hard for me to do when traveling. Downtown Salado is a great place to spend some quality time with the family. There are also lots of VERY good restaurants in Salado. (Go to Johnny's for sure!) Breakfast was good. Housekeeping did a good job on my room while I was there. I highly recommend this hotel.

My nights stay was great except for the internet service which was extremely slow and I would have a hard time staying again especially if work related as I could not conduct normal business related work with the internet as slow as it was.

Linda, the receptionist/hotel clerk, made it affordable for me to stay (within hotel limitations). In addition, she was very sensitive about my hearing problems. Even though a wedding reception was being held downstairs, I didn't hear a thing in my room.
I was impressed that my room had an overhead light as well as lamps. How neat.
My only two complaints are no waffles at the breakfast area and the vending machines were cranky!
I have only been in two hotels in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Louisiana that were as quiet as this one. I loved it!
