Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Amenities Great place to stay; View of the surrounding conutryside is fantastic and you can't beat the breakfast bar, both for quality of the food and the hours served. The pool and hot tub were a great way to relax at the end of the day. Definately the place to stay if visiting Blacksburg or the surrounding area. Short distance to several hiking trails and Salem offers several great restraunts. August 26, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst experience at a Holiday Inn I normally love staying at Holiday Inns as the experience is very consistent. Not this time. It was awful. Three days later still no contact from the hotel manager. When I checked out, I was told there was no manager on duty on that Saturday. Really??? No manager on a Saturday of all days? Check in was very nice. The room looked fine. Nicer than other Holiday Inns. That's where the good part stopped. The other guests were having a very loud, fabulous time throughout the lobby and first floor hall very late into the morning. Once they finally left, the housekeeper knocked twice to ask me when I was leaving! This was prior to 9 AM! Check out is noon! I let her know I was not happy about the complete lack of sleep and that I was extremely tired. Yet - she came back AGAIN to ask when I was leaving. I grabbed up my belongings and got out of there. Absolutely NEVER staying there again. August 25, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Place to Stay This hotel was well kept and quiet. It was a little farther from VA Tech than I thought but that was my mistake. The breakfast was interesting - the first pancake machine I have ever seen and they were pretty good. I would recommend it for a quiet get away stay. The mountains are beautiful and there is a gas station/convenience store just a very short walk away. If you need anything else, you have to get in the car. Nothing else is very convenient. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by What a Disaster It was a disaster from the time I checked in. We were given the wrong room - and so was three other people that checked in at the same time. I was given some line some line that I made the reservation on a 3rd party web site and that is why my room was not available. I had to correct the person and stated that I made the reservation on Holiday Inn's web site. I was given a smaller king room that I made my reservation for. 2). Room was not very clean - dust was many places. (3). The light is in the room was terrible. Only 1 bulb in the desk lamp and who uses the old style bulbs anyway?. This hotel does. 4). Internet was too slow to use. The WIFI signal was high but the bandwidth out of the hotel is too slow. 5). Breakfast items were not filled. Five strikes and you wonder why I will not be back to this hotel. August 23, 2015
