This Murray hotel was not a planned stop for my trip home but I found it to be a very nice relaxing place. I was 'snow bound' on a trip home and had to spend the night. The only down side was the hotel isn't close to the airport and does not provide transportation.
The breakfast was wonderful. The morning staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and relaxing and had a microwave and fridge. I would stay here again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by TamaraB Clean and comfortable - only gripe is workout facility
Overall my experience at this property was satisfactory. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and accommodated what I asked of them. Breakfast spread had variety and was tasty.
The one reason I would not recommend this property is if working out during your stay is a high priority for you. The "fitness center" is tiny, has a total of 4 total machines and no weights, and has limited hours that make it tough to fit in a workout if you're working a longer business day. They also had an issue where the 2 treadmills couldn't both be on at a running pace, or they shorted out the extension cord and both machines turned off.
If I were vacationing and didn't plan to work out, this hotel would be nice; as a business traveler trying to keep up my fitness during the week, I would look elsewhere.

I am a frequent business traveler to Salt Lake City. I stay at this Holiday Inn Express because of the location in the city, easy access to the interstate system and easy access to the airport. I usually stay 4 nights when I am in Salt Lake City.
I reserve a King Executive room. This is nice size room for me because I do a lot of work in the room. I do not know the name of the mattress but it is very comfortable. The furniture and amenities seem to be pretty new. The room is always clean when I check in and the housekeeping staff does a good job of keeping the room clean during the week.
The lobby and food service area is always clean and nice. They always have coffee, cookies and/or fruit available. I do not eat a lot of breakfast but they have a good selection of food items available.
The staff always greets me as a PC Platinum member. They offer a gift bag with a bottled water and snacks. The staff greeting is always friendly and they are glad to see you. They have responded quickly when I have had an issue.

I'm a frequent business traveler and I stay in at Holiday Inn Express often because I like the consistency. The Holiday Inn Express in Salt Lake is one of the reasons why I like this hotel chain. The rooms are clean and client. The bed was a Tempur-Pedic, which is something I have not seen in many hotels. Great night's sleep! Its in a convenient location just south of the city center with easy access to the airport.
The staff is friendly and efficient. The breakfast was hot and fresh with a great variety of choices. I will definitely stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Salt Lake City.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WdK2012 Nice and Quiet
I have been here before while traveling back from CA to CO. Checked in in the middle of the night and we were welcomed with great service. When I had to go back to SLC for work, I knew this would be the place for me. I like the peaceful and quiet environment, and the service is always great, the people are friendly. The room itself was clean and big enough for just one person. The beds are great to sleep on and to relax and keep your of off things.
The breakfast area is huge, and the breakfast itself has a great variety.
Would recommend this place, and looking forward to coming back when I'm in the SLC area

My husband uses a cane to get around and being placed in the room that was the farthest from the lobby and breakfast area, required getting into our vehicle to drive to the front of the main entrance. The walk to the lobby from the room given to us was equivalent to about two and a half city blocks. It was not like the facility was sold out either, so there was no excuse for this. No upgrade offered for being a Platinum Elite member. Upon check-in was given a rate that was about $30.00 higher than the on-line booking rate we had received for the same place the week earlier. After a discussion with the young man at the front desk, an adjustment was made. Once again, we felt that this should not happen when you are a regular Holiday Inn patron that stays more than 50 nights a year and is also a AAA Card holder.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jkm2730 Good customer service, location and breakfast.
Stayed here for a couple of days with the wife and son. First morning the tub faucet broke and was unable to turn on the water. Contacted front desk and they immediately gave me a key to another clean rood so I could shower. While we were out for the day they fixed the faucet-great customer service.
Breakfast was good, one day sausage and cheese omelette, one day bacon and scrambled eggs. Variety of other breakfast items was very good. Even though the hotel was booked the breakfast crowd was quite manageable.
Business center (PC's) were convenient for airport check in and printing out our travel documents. WiFi in our room was great-no issues.
We were offered snacks and bottled water upon check in because I was a Priority Club member.
On the negative side or room for improvements-Double beds are too small, wished we could have had 2 queens but I don't think they have those just King rooms or 2 doubles. Room size a bit on the small side, probably why the double beds, then again we didn't really spend any time in the room except to sleep. An elevator would be nice but we knew this before we booked the room.

When I first walked in to check-in the lobby smelled like sewer.
The room was nice but room service was horrible. They didn't come forgot to leave towels, coffee. When I called the front desk about this I had to go down and get what they had forgot (more than one day happened several days) because they only had one person at the desk and they could not leave.
Would never stay at this location again.

No elevator to second floor. Very close to the Interstate, but our room faced the opposite direction, so unsure how noisy it would be inside. Several big truck/trailer units parked outside and I think the trailer cooling unit on one or more was cutting in and disturbing us in the night
