I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express here in San Antonio. The young lady who checked me in was nice and courteous. My room, though small, was comfortable and had all the amenities I needed to stay the week. I only had a couple of issues that I would see changed for future guests. One was the business/computer room. The computers were very slow and had pop-ups whenever I tried to access them. I had to restart the computers a couple of times to make them work properly. I addressed this issue to the front desk. The other thing was breakfast. Since I had to leave a couple of mornings before 6:45 a.m., breakfast was not completely set up for me to grab a bite to eat. Also, the elevator was super slow as well. Other than that, service was good. I would recommend this hotel because of the location is within walking distance to the Riverwalk, Restaurants, The Alamo, and Shopping.

I couldn't get access for 2 days. it would be nice to have the front desk person trained to resolve it issues like that.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by WRol Not what was expected but it was acceptable.
Having traveled and stayed at multiple HIE across the country, this one ranked a little lower on my scale of acceptability. The rooms were a little dank due to humidity and an AC unit that was a little undersized. The hallway of the 4th floor smelled of cigarettes and the walls are rather thin if you catch my drift. The breakfast area could be more accommodating by having more seating and possibly figuring out a way to get the morning coffee and paper folks out of the way for those that need to eat breakfast. Decent selection but a little brash service in the dining area. Employee conflict is not something I want to listen to either.
Bright side, short walking distance to many SA attractions downtown. Be prepared to be hit up for money at every turn as there are many people on the streets asking for money. Beware of the bus stops as this is where they congregate.

Not a bad place to stay, room was relatively cheap, internet access was poor, but other than that was a good place.

the elevator license was expired. I spoke with the receptionist and she said the elevator had already been inspected/certified but they haven't had the time to put the updated license in the frame at elevator wall/door. Picture attached of the expiration date!
the bathroom was smelly. Could clearly see the toilet was not cleaned properly - dirty.
the room urgently need painting.
first time this hotel charged me for parking as a Platinum customer

Had a rough time finding a room that wasn’t occupied and had working air conditioning. Breakfast was good for a congenital style meal with plenty of choices. The late night staff was very helpful, but the early evening staff seemed to have some where else to be.
Once I was able to get into a functioning room, it was good for this level of hotel.
With the hotel’s former life as a jail, it’s not “new” but has some fun character (old jail bars on the original wood windows).

Its an Ok place, I long walk downtown, 6 blocks or so. They charge for parking, no idea why. Its not on the river walk, its old and they have tried to update it. Lock you car there are bums around the grounds.
