Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Texas Its an Ok place, I long walk downtown, 6 blocks or so. They charge for parking, no idea why. Its not on the river walk, its old and they have tried to update it. Lock you car there are bums around the grounds. August 13, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent place to stay to access Riverwalk Room was ground floor and pool was right outside room. Rooms were small but if you are going to be out most of the time, they work. Lighting was on the dim side in the bathroom. Staff was polite. Had to ask for toiletries on 2 different occasions on a two nite stay. Overall a good hotel with 4 block walk to Riverwalk. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Interesting history to the building but the elevator was very hot to ride in. High ceilings in room, adequate beds not great but certainly not the worst. Friendly and honest staff. Questionable area to walk to the River Walk. We did not feel safe on the short 3-4 block walk especially as it got later on the evening. August 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel The Holiday Inn Riverwalk in San Antonio is a nice, clean hotel that is conveniently located for seeing the sights of San Antonio. The staff was very friendly. If I had to pick one weakness, that would be the lack of a drive where you can park, check in and unload your car. Also the ramp is located on the far side of the building and not easily accessible. I would think there should be a ramp in front of the building for those who cannot climb the steps. August 4, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bummer Stay In SHORT.. We were very disappointed it made our stay miserable and should be a memorable one. When we reserved by phone a man answered then switched over to a woman this was confusing We were not advised about the extra cost for parking this is disappointing when you are on a fixed budget. Management did not communicate with each other (we had to explain same problems several times). Our floor did not have WiFi when we mentioned this to the evening desk clerk she was surprised and questioned us and said no one else has complained. She told us to comedown to the lobby and use the WiFi.. Next morning we spoke to the Manager and he had no information at all about our problem. That afternoon again we spoke to the desk clerk and asked about the WiFi again they were surprised of the problem "I was furious" No communication again. I was told no one else is having problems. So I asked to check it out for themselfs.. YES I was confirmed there was a problem. In sort the best they could do for us was give us free parking!!!!! REALLY!! August 3, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Staff The staff was excellent and very helpful!! We were in a handicap room so the closet rack was lower but not a problem for us. The hotel is an old jail, but renovated nicely. Somewhat pricey for this location considering we used the same amount of priority club points and could have stayed directly on the Riverwalk for the same # of points. It's a good several block's walk to the Riverwalk, but again not a problem for people who enjoy walking. A trolley stop is next door to hotel if one needed it for transportation. The pool is small and was quite crowded whenever we tried to use it, so we ended up just going back to the room and enjoying the AC. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return. July 30, 2014

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing This Holiday Inn was a complete disappointment except for just ONE staff member, Monica (breakfast). When checking in, there was one person ahead of us and Monique (desk clerk) kept complaining about how hungry and tired she was to the person she was checking in as well as any other guests who happened to pass by. Making eye contact, I was trying to convey that we were tired from driving and just wanted to check in hoping she would shorten her personal conversation. When she finally got to us, she reiterated her same conversation. Finally, I just told her we were tired and hungry and she moved along. When asked about a place to eat, she suggested the diner next door. It was closed. After grabbing a bite somewhere else, we returned to the hotel only to find someone screaming and cursing out front while having a phone conversation. There was also a vagrant sleeping on the sidewalk next to the property. Parking is terrible! We couldn't find a spot the second night and a staff member had us park blocking another car. Poor water pressure for showering and no toilet paper! When speaking to the manager, we were supposed to get bonus points, but if we did, I don't see them! July 29, 2014

A number of them I had to move around to get a working connection. Also the light over the mirror bathroom was inadequate lighting to really see what you are doing. Kick up the wattage please. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The bed was amazing, as well as the food. That's about it. The downfalls unfortunately were, the parking set up along the side Of the hotel. EXTREMELY tight fit. No turn around. Only could go In reverse to get out. The front desk lady kept checking me in under a different person, which kept saying I booked on I did not. I even had a confirmation #, and spoke with someone named Barbie through the # for Holiday Inn. The lady kept telling me they had no one named Barbie. My room wasn't ready. They had no king beds. All in which I was told through Barbie I had, through Holiday Inn, NOT She gave me the form to sign, it wasn't my name. But my address. She did apologize after several minutes of me repeating to her I did NOT Book on She said she put someone's else's name down. I did ask her if my card was charged twice. She said no. I did get my early check in, with my king bed, a I was told I was from Barbie. Also, the water pressure was awful. It literally was coming out like a gardening water can. The bathroom sink had more water pressure. The maid also said they were out of laundry bags. She gave me a bag she found in a stock room which was from retail store someone there had used. The food was delicious. The poor employees were doing a great job trying to keep up with restocking the food. It was very busy. They ran out of coffee twice. They did do a really good job. The bed and pillows were heaven! The room was beautiful! July 23, 2014

On-site parking was nice, and the trolley stop is only 1/2 block away, easy to hop on and explore San Antonio. Small "boutique" type hotel, very nice rooms and beds. Easy walk to to the Riverwalk and rest of downtown (if its the usual Texas hot, take the trolleys). Nice and quiet, away from the crowded area of downtown. July 5, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Big "D" Great deal for the money. The location isn't the greatest, but considering what the others charge for location, this Inn is a great bargain. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the service was very good. Didn't use the pool, as when I saw it, being very tiny and loaded with juveniles, looked for a place to have a drink instead. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a true Holiday Inn Express Don't be misled by the name on the door. This is not a typical Holiday Inn Express. The rooms are much smaller. The dining room is too small and you could end up without a seat. The milk is served warm and was sour one morning. They charge extra for parking, but conveniently don't mention that when booking. BTW, the parking lot isn't big enough for all the guests. Bring lysol and gloves. June 18, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Quite Old Hotel She is a rather worn out looking Hotel. The carpet in our room was worn and patched, and seemed to never get vacuumed while we where there. The rooms had a rather old musty smell to them, that never really went away no matter how long you ran the air. I am a native Texan so bugs really do not bother me, they were all dead, but they never got cleaned up, after 3 days of house cleaning. The lobby is sweltering, even with the doors at both end open, at least you will be pre sweated before you start your day in SA. On a good note, the rooms are super quite, so even though the place seemed stuffed with families while in our room it was quite. The staff is friendly. Next time I will go with the HI on the river walk. June 18, 2014
