I had read some not so good reviews about others stay here at the Holiday Inn and I was worried that I would have similar problems. I came to San Antonio for my birthday weekend. I had a fantastic time! The parking ended up being free cause my friend realized he was a hotel club member. The staff was nice and very helpful. The room turned out to be way better than I expected. We had the breakfast the next morning. It was pretty good. We saw the sites and had a great time! I will definitely come back!

This hotel is in a good location and reasonably priced, Eric, at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant. We appreciated his help. The room was OK, small (we booked 2 Q beds but they are full sized) and a little musty smelling. Breakfast area is at the front door which is a little uncomfortable for both the guests arriving and dining. There was a great selection of breakfast foods however, the space was small and overcrowded. Overall everything was good and our family enjoyed the stay.

information on history of area was very interesting reading. The write up about the hotel itself was very interesting. Staff always available to help with questions change for laundry.

We stayed for 8 nights and could not be happier. The night clerk Eric always greeted us with a smile and was very helpful our first night. All the other staff was great also. The continental breakfast had a ton of choices, more than any other hotel we have stayed in and it was good. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The hotels proximity to Market Square and the Riverwalk make it the best location as far as we are concerned. Many nights we had dinner on the Riverwalk and then walked to Market Square for a drink at Mi Terra. Thanks for a great experience in San Antonio.

The bath tub had not been cleaned and had black hair in the tub and stuck all over the walls of the tub. It took me 3 times cleaning to get all the hair off and then I could clean the tub. Will not stay here ever. Will not recomment to my friends. That is one area that needed to be clean. It made me wonder what else had not been cleaned and being a nurse I am concious about those things.

This hotel is near the Riverwalk, but the initial appearance is totally different, in that this is a converted jail made into a hotel. There is very limited parking, and will cost you, unless you are a Platinum member. The staff did their best in service, but the following problems occurred:
1. Upon check-in, was given a room which was not cleaned. Had to go back down to the front desk and get a new room. Very inconvenient.
2. Only decaf coffee was available for the in-room coffee machine. I went down in the morning and got regular packs for the room.
3. The neighborhood around the hotel has many transients--be careful while venturing out.
4. The front entrance has stairs, and no ramp--can't roll, have to carry your bags--I'm surprised they get away with this per regulations for handicapped.

Rooms (2 booked) were not ready when promised. Staff were confused as to which rooms would be ready and when. After being advised the two rooms would be ready in 30 minutes, we had to wait in the lobby an additional 30 minutes until they were ready.

I will not stay in this property again, I will also inform anyone who ask of the size of the room, and how uncomfortably we were.
We were expecting the same type of room that we stay in
when we book with your company.

We really enjoyed our stay. This hotel is in a great location, we were able to walk to every location. Eric, the evening manager was awsome. He was friendly and very helpful. We really appreciated all of his help. The room was great, just a little musty smelling. Breakfast was very good but we were a little bummed because the pancake machine never worked.

We stayed two nights,staff very friendly, bed very comfortable, room large corner one, quiet, red trolley 100m every 10 minutes, three blocks to walk to riverbank restaurants. Would definately stay again. would reccomend it .

I love San Antonio, and I have stayed there several times. I recommend this hotel as it is a great bargain in a great location--very close to the market and to the Riverwalk, but half the cost of the Riverwalk hotels.

This was a very disappointing stay. When I arrived, I was not greeted as either a guest or a Priority Club member. Moreover, each time we walked through the lobby, either leaving or returning from somewhere, we were not greeted by the staff. The desk workers seemed to be preoccupied, the maintenance staff did not say hello, and the cleaning workers did not seem to care if we were there or not.
We stayed for 4 nights, and the few times I needed something, I had to ask someone to come to the front desk (and they acted "put upon" that a guest would need their assistance).
The morning breakfast was not good. The eggs had no flavor, the bacon was almost floating in its own grease, and the cereal was awful. I think the only reason the yogurt and milk had any flavor was that they were made by someone else.
Finally, on the day of our check-out, the bill was not placed under our door. Although I usually do stop by the desk to check-out, it would be nice to just leave the key as I do with some of my stays.
I will never stay at this hotel again and will advise all of my acquaintences to steer clear of the San Antonio North Riverwalk Holiday Inn Express.
