Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All you would expect and need This is one of my favorite IHG properties. I've stayed here on multiple occasions and it's consistently been clean, the breakfast is great, the staff are friendly and the rooms are comfortable. It's not fancy but I'm looking for clean and comfortable, not mahogany paneling in the elevators. It's a bit off the beaten track but I like that. It's close to major thoroughfares in the San Antonio area so it's a great central location for a family vacation with decent access to the Alamo downtown and Six Flags, and some shopping centers are not far away. I'm confident you will have a good experience here as well. April 15, 2014

It's not that big a deal, but its nice to receive a water and snack when I arrive. No other location has ever declined to give me the welcome bag. This location did and could have cared less. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, Comfortable Stay I stay here at least once per month. The property is well managed. The facility is very clean, beds are quite comfortable. Hot breakfast is above norm for a 2.5 star hotel. Very positive experience. February 9, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Unfriendly check in Lady at the front desk was very unfriendly with us during our check in process. Se asked us if our address on IHG was ours or somebody's else?? Incomprehensible question. She didn't realize my member status within reward group we I asked for a possible upgrade and didn't bother to check on system any possible availability for such upgrade. Tub was not working properly as water accumulated very fast January 11, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 bad bad experience i arrive late with my two childrens, i say to manager i want a room in first floor,the manager give to me in third floor, the manager more late talk to me by telephone, and say me , do you be quiet, or leaving from the hotel o change room, i choose change room and in this moment surprise one room in the first floor, i very upset and very angry my wife, the manager say give to me a discount in the check but no have any discount in my check. My husband used to say your bed was so comfortable he didn't want to get up even to go eat. He was killed in an automobile accident three years ago and I wasn't sure I could make the trip to San Antonio alone, but I felt at home when I took my first trip there without him. Thanks to everyone at Holiday Inn Express for making the hotel the place it is. November 4, 2013

We have intentionally not stayed here in the past based on we assumed that it wasn't as nice of a neighborhood as the IHG properties north of 1604, but when I ended up staying there for "points" reasons I was very pleased and impressed. The location is actually more convenient to the places that we visit and is MUCH easier to navigate than US281 is north of 1604. The staff were very nice and accommodating and the property was clean and well-kept. We will be staying here again when we return to SA for our next visit. October 15, 2013

Had microwave and fridge, always a plus. Was right off of the highway, yet was very quiet. And for a Saturday night the price was great. I'd stay there again. September 28, 2013

We stayed at this hotel because we were attending a sales meeting in the area and the room price was fantastic. The hotel looks new and the room was clean and comfortable. Wi-fi was fee and worked well. Staff was friendly and seemed to know what they were doing. Contiental breakfast had the usual (pankcakes instead of waffles) and they have coffee in lobby as early as 5:30am. September 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value - Nice Hotel Price was outstanding for a nice room with a comfortable king size bed. Quiet hotel off a side street on Hwy 281 North. Quick drive from the Airport. Called hotel to confirm directions before leaving Airport and they gave me an alternate address to put in GPS and confirmed directions. Easy check in and lots of parking. Used the treadmill in the fitness room and had the free breakfast. Great value for the stay. September 27, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dirty Room We asked for two queens size beds and when we got there the beds were full size. After looking around my room I found a pair of children's dirty underpants next to bed near the window. This really made me feel they do not clean the rooms very well. The shower head needed to be clean and had a lot of green build up. The tub was leaking from the bottom of the seal and the water did not drain very well. We stayed two nights at this location and we used our reward points and we asked for a larger room and they can take additional points the front clerk called her manager and she said it would be an additional $20.00 to move to a bigger room but we stayed in our original room. The first morning after eating breakfast in the hotel I saw the breakfast attendant sitting on the prep table after she came back from the bathroom. I think if you are going to prepare meals on that table you should not be sitting on the table. I did not eat breakfast on the second morning because I felt that if this person put her bottom on the table where she prepare meal it is very unsanitary. I would not ever stay or eat at this location again. September 15, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Stayed two nights. One Good. One less than average. The first night of our stay was a good experience. The lady that checked us in that night was VERY kind and helpful. She recommended the Big Win promotion and was great about answering our questions. We checked out the following day because we had planned to stay at a special little Bed and Breakfast. I thought he called in our B&B reservation and he thought I had. So, by 10 pm, we had no room booked. I reserved a room through my mobile device at this same hotel. Our room was supposed to be two beds. When we checked in and reached our room (tired from a long, hot day) we were assigned one king bed. The lady at the desk reassigned us to a two bed room. I realize this is not that much of a big deal. We were very tired at this point and it was a little frustrating loading all of our gear and getting up to the third story to find the wrong room. We settled into the correct room and I placed some of our cooler items in the mini fridge. The fridge still contained items from the previous guests. The items were shoved way in the back and not easy to see from a standing position. I then used the restroom sink to wash my hands and face. There were old dry water spots around the sink. Not a major thing either. However, I felt slightly less comfortable in this room than the first night or at other Holiday Inns. September 5, 2013

We have just become familiar with Holiday Inn Express, and have enjoyed two recent stays. The rooms are spacious and clean, and have refrigerators & microwaves. the breakfast is very good. Check-in staff very friendly and helpful. We will be a regular customer. September 3, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable,clean,staff great. My sisters and I stayed 2 nights and it was a great stay! The beds were very comfortable. The only problem we had the 1st night was a slow drain in tub, it was taken care of as soon as we told the front desk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was hot and the lady that was replenishing everything was very nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend this hotel. September 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No concern for security. Car was broken into in the parking lot where the only access is by the front door. When I reported it to the front desk they said there are no camera coverage of the parking lot and so there was nothing that could be done. I have stayed at this particular hotel many times and was very disappointed with the lack of concern for my loss. Priority Club identifies this as my favorite hotel. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Location was good To start I was not recognized as a priority member when I checked in. The room had double beds instead of Queen Beds that was a minus. Cleaning of the room the first day wasn’t good but they did do better the second day. The pool the first day was yellow. The second day was better but had too much chorine in it. The faucet in the bathroom dripped all the time and didn’t drain very well. I reported it they said it would be Monday before they could fix it and didn’t have another room for me to go to. This hotel will be ok if you check in and don’t ask for anything. Just not a friendly Atmosphere. August 27, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel at 1604 & 281. The hotel is modern with wonderful, courteous staff. With all the new highway construction, if coming south on 281, or west on 1604 , make sure to stay on the 281 South service road. Much easier to access the hotel that way. Rooms were great and comfy.
