Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff and facilities The staff was friendly and helpful. Grounds, rooms and common areas were clean and pleasant. My only negative observation was the entrance from the street. We happened to be coming from the one direction that was a divided street and could not enter without making a u turn further down the road. But we figured it out and so glad we stayed at this hotel. Thanks for a great experience. December 11, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and huge room! This was my fifth stay at this hotel this year. Every time I stepped into this hotel, I felt like it was visiting an old friend because the staff immediately recognized me and welcomed me back using Japanese. This little gesture was very heartwarming. The room was huge, and the staff were very friendly as usual. The breakfast was average, but it had many selections to choose from, enough to start the day fresh and healthy. Overall, I recommend this hotel to any business traveler in and around San Diego! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Regarding the shuttle bus. I took shuttle bus from airport to hotel, it costs me $38, very fair. I reserved the return shuttle when check-in. On the day to check out, I called front desk in advance and had the confirmation. However when I need to go, no shuttle bus came. After 20 minutes, a limo came to pick me up, late already. When I arrived the airport, I paid by credit card and got a hand-written receipt for $60. However when I received the bill of credit card, I was actually charged for $72. I tried to call the Yellow Cab indicated on the receipt, they said the credit card charge was handled by another party and transferred my call. But the calls always picked up by answering machine. I left my message and phone number but never received a reply. Really bad experience. November 20, 2014

Ester, Maria, and the General Manager always ask how my stay is going and if I need anything to make it better. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast area is also spacious and clean and the host always greets guests with a friendly smile. I enjoy staying at the Holiday Inn San Diego-Sorrento when I'm on assignment in the area.
