This Holiday Inn Express stinks, literally. I am a Platinum member, and this is by far the worst HI Express I have ever stayed in.

The hotel was priced right, for the area. The only issue was the air conditioner had bird poop that was inside the vent; Not very sanitary. I just opened the window instead of blowing bird poop in the room.

Clean, beautiful and well managed property.
We throughly enjoyed our stay.
There were issues only on a couple of days when there was too much of rush and with only one toaster available the breakfast line extended to 15 mins waiting. In peak morning hours and things to do on a holiday season that was a major issue.
We complained to the management and it did take a couple of requests, but it was fixed in 2 days and everything else was very pleasant.

We stay at this hotel 3 or 4 times a year for 5-6 days at a time. The location is fine, the front desk staff is outstanding and the price is right. However, the maids sometimes forget to leave new towels and they never leave enough creamer for the coffee. The toilet in 255 is sluggish and requires multiple flushes--I've complained about this before--and we have to request a wastepaper basket for the shower/bathroom since only two are left otherwise-one for the desk, one for the extra sink. Also, we request two GLASS glasses instead of plastic but the housekeeping staff seems to have great difficulty providing these.

Don't stay here if you have a bad back...the mattresses are TERRIBLE. Also, at the breakfast they water down the juice machine so you are drinking orange colored water and the coffee is awful. They let kids run up and down the hallways screaming and yelling. I would never stay here again.

My wallet got stolen right from the hotel lobby with cash and cards inside.I can not believe that a hotel with such a repute does not even has basic security considerations like CCTV cameras.To add to my woes the front desk staff was highly uncooperative.They were so casual about the entire incidence as if it was a routine thing.Did not hear from the management even.
Highly unrecommended !!!!!

I have nothing bad to say....we were in town for a girls fast pitch softball tournament. There were a lot of teenage girls running around and we had no problems with noise or anything. The beds were very comfy and the staff was very helpful. They even gave us a toothbrush because my 12 year old son forgot his. The breakfast was better than your average continental and was very well stocked especially with all the softball teams up and getting ready for early morning games. It was about a 20 minute drive to Mission Beach as most of our team went there on Saturday night. It was a perfect 2 night stay.

Recently had a one night stay for a sporting event in the area. Check in was quick and very informative. Had a movie for families at 8pm that night with chips and juice out. Very cool!! Unfortunately, did not have much room at all for people to sit and talk in or around the lobby. When we did, we were constantly told to keep the noise level down. Room was nice, beds were great. The biggest issue was our air conditioner didn't work. It would not go below 79 degrees all night. Couldn't call for help as I had 2 sleeping kids already. Great breakfast in the morning. Overall, I would stay here again. Thank you.

Worst two nights I've ever spent in a motel. Horrible, rock hard beds. Lighting in room was blinding. Didn't sleep at all and was exhausted upon departure.

We spent two nights at the hotel. Both nights we were able to listen to our neighbors make an x rated movie! Would not recommend this hotel to any one. Looks great, rooms are nice but who wants to hear the neighbor.

It was my one year anniversary and my boyfriend & I decided to take a trip down to San Diego. We were looking for a hotel that was close to the San Diego Safari Park and a hotel that had a jacuzzi in it as well. We chose this hotel because it was very convienant to the Safari Park as well as it had all the amenities we were looking for. From the moment we stepped in, we were wow'd at every moment. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, we had a huge flat screem television, there was a balcony to where you can step out and take a fresh air, the sliding glass was huge (which I loved because I'm all about natural lighting), and the bathroom we had was AMAZING!! We stayed in the Presidential King Suite. The bathoom had a full size jacuzzi, a separate area for the toilet, and a walk in shower that was very spacious. The bathroom was completely CLEAN to. Everything was completely romantic. The hotel has about two resturants in literally walking distance. There was Elephant Bar and A sushi place across the street. We got out sushi and brought it back top our hotel to be alone. The hotel is also located right off the freeway with we found very convienant. It was a nice nice area. We did have a tv in our room but the cable sucked. Being that it was a suite, you would assume that there would be at least HBO or something but there wasn't. We spent most of our time in the hotel so we would hvae loved to have enjoyable shows to watch. But if your going to be out most of the time I guess cable doesn't matter. The other downfall I didnt like was the water for the jacuzzi was extermely hot. There was no buttons for cold and hot. We ended up going back in forth to the ice machine to cool the water down. Being that the water was so hot, we were sweating a lot in the bathroom & there was no air conditioner flow in the restroom. Other than that, the young lady at the front desk, was so nice. We got everything we wanted in our stay and we woul definitely recommend as well as come back to visit soon.

I would not recommend this location. The drapes would not close, the sheer curtain offered little privacy. The breakfast was not as good as other comparable properties.
The wake-up call was a joke, either I never received a call or the phone rang only once. This was reported, but never fixed.
