I travel to a lot of Holiday Inn Express locations and this one had one of the worst welcoming experiences. There was no enthusiasm and recognition of my status. Also, I am used to having coffee available in the eating area during the day but there wasn't even hot water for tea. I realize my room coffee pot was available for this but the HIE in New York managed coffee in the lobby right up to Hurricane Sandy and started again after 2 days.

Charges appeared on my card and I have been trying to get someone from the accounting department to return my calls and emails for over a month now. Will never stay at this hotel again. Save yourself the trouble and find another hotel.

Have stayed here often because of their having a good State rate price since I work for the state of California. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the housekeeping staff do a good job. Will stay here again if I come there again for business as long as they have a State rate. Not far from downtown Frisco which is great for my work.

We have stayed with you a total of four times now and always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean, quiet, beds comfortable. Breakfasts were outstanding. Would recommend.

I was treated poorly due to not being with my Fiance' while using "OUR" Reward Night. The woman was out right rude! There were also no Reward gifts given. No upgrade even though it was half empty. and I stood at the counter for 30 minutes before the Morning Clerk woke up to check me out. The room was clean like I always count on HIE to be! We left before breakfast due to a 6 am flight.
Basically......the staff were extremely rude and Priority member means nothing to this location!

Staff was helpful, shuttle was timely and there are a few restaurants within a short drive if you are turning in a car in the evening.

The three ladies at the front desk were delightful. However, The male cleark Jon was not helpful at all. Three times, I ask to speak to the manager (Raj) and was told each time he was not in. On one ocassion, I saw him walk out the side door. I left me phone number and email and to this day he has not responded. I have stayed in Holiday Inn's for many years, as I travel for work every week. I had made previous arrangements to have my work crew stay at this hotel and needed to make sure arrangements previous made were honored, which they were not. The next issue that came up was the parking. One night I had to park across the road because there were no parking spaces. If I am paying $9.95 per night for parking, I expect to be able to park at the hotel. Three onther nights my crew had to park off site also. Again, they were charged parking fees. On Thursday afternoon I was standing at the front desk to again try and speak to the manager when I heard the cleark (Jon) tell a lady that they are a Park-& Fly lot. She could pay to park her vehicle at the hotel for up to ten days for a fee. Over 50% of the vehicles parked at the hotel vere never moved during the 6 days I was there. I will never stay there again and I will tell my company of my experiance. I have two crew members who will be working in San Francisco for the next two years and I now have to find another place for them to stay Monday through Friday. Not a good experiance.

I stayed here the night before an early flight so I could park my car during the trip and take the early morning shuttle to the airport. It was worth the stay for that convenience alone. But I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and neat the room was. It was quiet and had a comfortable mattress. I'd stay again.

Had problem with heater working properly. The heater doesn't come on until you enter the room. Contacted the front desk attendant and he immediately had a maintenance man correct the problem and offered another room if necessary. Wish there were more choices on the breakfast menu. Really loved the closeness of the airport and the free shuttle service. Overall a nice stay!
Read some of the other reviews and we did not have any issues with the lack of hot water or bad internet service.

Poor communication skills, full of "cookie cutter" responses by management. My worst experience at a Holiday Inn Express yet, and I stay at many Holiday Inn's and Holiday Inn Express's. I was supposed to stay for three nights, but left after one. I will not stay at this location again. Too many other choices on the same street.

Stayed here one night while connecting through SFO on a trip to Asia. The hotel is close to the airport, and the free shuttle made transportation easy. The hotel staff was friendly, the breakfast choices were good, and everything in the room worked fine. The bed was super comfortable! The next time I need a hotel near SFO this will be my first choice.

I am a Platinum member. I was very disappointed with the servcice for my four night stay. There were issues with the door and locking mechanism. I was not satisfied with the response of the hotel staff. The clerk at the front desk was flippant. I left a detailed voice mail message on the second day of my stay for the manager Raj. He never even bothered to return my call.

My room rate changed from the first night to the second and third. I had initialed an agreement for my room rate but yet it increased.
I was leaving early in the morning when I found out I was "slammed". I asked the night clerk to correct the bill. The night clerk said he couldn't change it and for me to contact the manager. i called three times the following day and each time was put on hold and then dropped off. I contacted customer care who said that someone would contact me with in 48 hours (this was more than 5 days ago and no one has contacted me.)
I'm very disappointed, My company stays in this particular Holiday Inn Express very often and I am contacting my travel arranger to change hotels in the future.

The TV didn't work the entire time I was there. They sent two technicians who couldn't do anything and it must have been the entire hotel because they didn't offer another room. They blamed it on the satellite, but there wasn't a cloud in the sky. The manager was supposed to call me, but he didn't.
Also, my iPhone would not recognize their wifi. They said it must be my iPhone, but this has never happened before or since with any wireless system.
Why do the hotels near silicon valley always seem to have the worst internet services?

I had a reservation for 2/16/2013 for one night. I was in town for the funeral of my grandpa. Due to some unforeseen circumstances with the funeral, I had to call the morning of my reservation to try and cancel. I called the hotel and spoke with Norris. She was not helpful and she transfered my to the on-duty managers phone. His name is Raj. He did not answer. I left him a detailed phone message and email explaining why I was in town and why I needed some mercy and leniency with the cancellation policy. He never returned my call or email. In fact, the guest relations folks at the national level could not reach him either. He was given 48 hours to at least respond to my request. He did not respond within that time frame. It wasn't until the guest relations folks decided to mail me a refund check that I heard back from him. In his response,he said he would not be able to issue a credit (even though he has the authority to do so). He seems to me to be heartless. STAY AWAY! Worst customer service ever!

Now if they would just get Comcast sports on their TV system so I can watch my Giants during baseball season, I would have nothing to complain about...;-)

I will definitely come back to this hotel but this time with my family and will highly recommend this hotel to my colleagues. When I erroneously made an incorrect reservation, the hotel Operations Manager was able to correct the error on time before my actual stay. I wish that I have more tome to stay in this hotel as all the restaurants I want to visit (mainly the popular Asian restaurants) are nearby. Furthermore, the hotel service was fast, the staff are respectful and knowledgeable, and the distance of the hotel to SFO is outstanding without worries of being late. Hence, I recommend this hotel. So what are you readers waiting for? : - ))

I found that the water pressure in the room was barely adequate to keep the shower head engaged. I also found that the hot water was not hot enough. The hot water flow in the sink was so reduced that it would take 10 minutes to fill the sink. I also found that charging for parking in South San Francisco is a bit of a stretch. There isn't a parking shortage in South San Francisco and it is an industrial area. The wireless internet doesn't cover the entire hotel very well. Fortunately the wired internet is good.

We had to spend one night at the Holiday Inn Express and we are glad we did. We were greeted with smiles and all around good feelings. The hotel is close to the rental car return and not that far from the city. Made the stay all the more enjoyable. The front desk was very helpful and the breakfast was perfect for our needs. This was my fourth visit to San Francisco in five years. During my previous visits, I stayed at the Downtown properties. This time we chose to stay close to the airport in order to save money. It was a great decision! Not only did we save money on our room rate, taxes, and parking, the hotel was very quiet and not as crowded as the Downtown hotels. We were also able to return our rental car one day early since the hotel has free shuttle service to SFO. Further, it only took us ten minutes to get into Downtown and Union Square. The hotel was very clean and had just been recently renovated. I would highly recommend this hotel to those individuals who are interested in visiting Downtown and want to save money and avoid the large crowds of the bigger Downtown hotels. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Recently stayed here at this new Hi Express. Great service from start to finish. Caught the shuttle from the airport late in the evening as my flight got cancelled from SFO. The Front Desk person checked me in with such a great smile! Felt good, especially with the stuff I had to deal with United Airlines at SFO. The room was large, clean and comfy. They have a nice business center that was open all night long so was able to print my boarding passes and catch up on a few emails. I also saw a gym but didn’t get a chance to enjoy it. The breakfast was decent as well. I definitely will stay here in the future.

We were told that our rate would be X by 2 different people as we traveled late nite to catch a plane in the early am. However when we arrived (4 adults and 6 kids 7mos to 13 all in varying stages of exhaustion) we were told 55 more and at that point needed to get everyone to bed. The room was nice and the breakfast just okay . The next morning the front desk basically blew me off about the rate. We had 2 rooms and one had a park (10days) and fly so we left our car and flew to Hawaii. We returned on a red eye and came back to the motel.We decided just to stay because we had sick kids and crying and tired kids. My wife was also ill so we decided to check in again because we only slept maybe an hr. on the plane. We were'nt charged an early check-in but now the rate was another 20 higher. I did'nt argue we were tired. Staff was much friendlier and location good and shuttle to airport easy. Parked in safe location for our trip and reasonable was added w/ one of the rooms. Just confirm your rate before you stay it may change.

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express SFO North. The room was impeccable and the staff was very helpful and generous with their time. The drive into downtown took us less than ten minutes. We plan on returning next month.

As I Platinum level Priority Club member, I have stayed a numerous Holiday Inn properties. This is the only one at which we had a less than a good to excellent experience. When I checked in the lady at the front desk did not acknowledge my Priority Club membership. Then, even after a staff member checked the reception on out television, it did not work properly. When we were ready to retire for the night, we discovered that the heating/ac unit did not work. We adjusted the thermostat and nothing happened. So we just went to bed.
I think that this one night hopefully is not representative of a normal stay at this property. I hope these remarks will be helpful.

I could enjoy my stay with a kind and cheerful front staff. The only thing I would suggest is that a phone call to guest room should be made a certain time after checkking-in, because guests can look around ther guest rooms meanwhile.

Great hotel, great staff, great choice. Stayed here for a quick overnight stay before flying out from SFO. The shuttle services were on time and quick. I would stay here when ever I have early morning flights from SFO.
