Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Alex305 Great location and recently renovated feel
The overall stay at this hotel was great. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is one of the best. As soon as I opened the curtains in my room I was looking at Alcatraz. Not a bad view :) There're are plenty of restaurants nearby. In-N-Out, chipotle, starbucks, and many more that serve seafood. There's also a Walgreens close by. The hotel is near the old cable cart stations so perfect for adventuring into the city. The hotel and the room were clean and had a recently renovated feel. The room had a microwave and fridge. Breakfast is ok. There're plenty of options from yogurt, cereal, pancakes, toasts, bacon, sausage, bagels, cinnamon buns, coffee, juice, water.
There's no self parking and valet is a bit expensive but on the plus side you have in and out privileges and don't have to look for parking when you come back late at night. Hotel felt safe throughout the day.
I would recommend this hotel

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Virginian Tom great location and friendly staff
We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. The price was excellent compared to other area hotels that offered the same amenities. I would mark it excellent in every category except for the bathroom and breakfast room. The bathroom fan was connected to the light and was very loud. Every time I went into the bathroom for any reason, I had to listen to the bathroom fan. I also felt that the breakfast (although adequate) could have been better. The only meat offered was turkey sausage and sausage gravy (probably with turkey sausage.) My stay was for almost a week and only one morning they offered bacon. I have never been a fan of the "pancake machines" that Holiday Inn uses. The pancakes are small, flat and a bit rubbery tasting - but that is not unique to this hotel.
I also suggest to Holiday Inn that they install wireless printers so I can print from my own device without needing to use their computers. I don't trust public computers these days.
