Mattress way too soft. Pillows were soft. Both should of been Firm.

When I arrived with no other guests in the lobby, neither of the 2 front desk clerks greeted me until I stood there a minute and said hello. It then took them a few minutes to close out of their internet windows to be able to check me in. Upon entering my non smoking room it was too smokey from a previous guest to use so the front desk changed my room after a significant effort. The next room was mildewy and sour smelling but not as bad as the smoky room. One cleaning staff was friendly and greeted me with a smile and a hello. The others wouldn't look at me or smile or acknowledge me, the rooms were dirty and I'm sure it was the unmotivated, unhappy staff that ineptly cleaned the rooms. The hotel looked very new, the lobby and eating area looked nice so it was very disappointing to find out how quickly this hotel was deteriorating because of poorly cleaned rooms and unfriendly, inept staff.

I'm an IHG Rewards Club Member, so I stay almost exclusively at Holiday Inn Express - for business and personal travel. Typically, I have a great experience with the room, the staff and amenities. Unfortunately, this particular stay was not up to par. The wi-fi did not work and both our sink and tub did not drain properly. Both to multiple requests to the staff to get them addressed. The hotel itself had several areas that were vandalized and not repaired. I would not recommend this particular hotel - although I will still use the chain extensively.
