For a Holiday Inn Express, this property is fantastic. Loved the hotel, the rooms, the service, and the breakfast was amazing compared to previous Express experience! The only downside is that its exterior signage is poor and poorly illuminated. I had difficulty finding the hotel, and once there I had difficulty finding the entrance.

Lo peor, peor fueron las veces que tuve que llamar para realizar la reserva y luego para hacer consultas desde fuera del hotel.
La atención personal de recepción fue muy buena; pero la atención telefónica MUY MALA.
Nadie coge el teléfono cuando llamas desde el exterior.

Stayed here using rewards night. The hotel location is 3-5 minutes walking from Sant Joan station. Be aware that if you try to find walking route from googlemaps, it will lead you 2 km walking (up and downhill) but actually there's a shortcut from the station to the hotel, just ask to the shop nearby to the station.
The room is good and quite big for the HIX standard. I didn't try the breakfast since I left early in the morning. I told that if I could have some pastries to take away since I would leave early, the staff on duty said that I could ask to his next shift. Unfortunately,when I told to the next shift; the next shift told me that I should have said to the previous shift so they could prepare it for me. So it's quite confusing.
Upon checked-in, I was told that no welcome drink voucher given for Platinum member if using the rewards night but he will do some exception on that time. I've stayed in other European IHG properties using rewards night, all of them never saying that the welcome drink voucher is not given if staying the reward night so I guess HIX Sant Cugat is one of non-participating hotel. However, the staffs are good and friendly.
