Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Moving Made Easier Moving a child to college is a stressful experience, but our stay at the Holiday Inn Express made it much easier. The location was great; close to school for the move and close to restaurants for dining and relaxing afterwards. The rooms were comfy and spacious, and the staff even gave my daughter a tip about a great professor! January 25, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable Beds, Great Location The location is the best part of this hotel. The staff were friendly and the rooms were nice enough for a short stay. However, the beds are very uncomfortable. Room was clean but there were stains on the sheets under the covers. The doors to the hallway are very thin and don't provide any sound insulation so if you are on a rowdy floor, be prepared to hear everything. I would not stay here again unless they updated their beds. January 25, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable room and great hotel staff We enjoyed staying at this location because it is very convenient in the downtown area, close to restaurants, shops, attractions, and the local Amtrak station. The hotel has its own "character", as it was an "old style" establishment under previous ownership. The old-style charm has been retained, but I am sure the facility has been upgraded under the IHG management. The condition and cleanliness of the rooms and common areas is very good. The front office staff and desk personnel are exceptional; they were extremely cordial and helpful. They were very attentive to our needs and questions. The assisted us in finding our way to local restaurants and attractions, helped us in resolving a baggage issue we had with Amtrak, and generally, were always looking to help us with any matter. The hotel also offers some nice services, such as complimentary bike usage, valet service, and will call to make reservations at a restaurant or attraction. Excellent staff service. January 18, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect stay in a great place it is situated perfectly on state street. I didn't need my car once during our two night stay. When I left the manager helped me move my car out of the parking lot! He actually did it himself because the valet was busy. Every staff member smiles at you and you feel welcome from the very start. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed It was a stopover reward night on my way to S.F. The building is 100 years old. The room walls are so thin that you can hear everyone around you. Beds need to be replaced. Breakfast is just OK. If ever again in Santa Barbara I would definately look for another hotel. December 27, 2015
